Offer Description Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our laboratory at the Istituto Mario Negri in Milan.

This position is funded by a three-year grant for a project titled "ALS therapeutics, drug screening, and biomarker discovery: harnessing the power of satellite cells. "

The project is a collaborative effort with the University College London (UCL), led by Professor Francesco Saverio Tedesco, and will involve advanced research on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

The project will commence on June 1st, 2025 , and will have a duration of three years.

The position will offer the unique opportunity to work on a multidisciplinary project that combines preclinical in vivo studies with in vitro experimental approaches and to collaborate with an international team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in vivo experiments on animal models of ALS, focusing on muscle regeneration and satellite cell transplantation.

• Perform in vitro studies on satellite cell biology, transcriptomic biosystem analysis, and myoblast reprogramming from ALS patient samples.

• Collaborate with international teams, particularly at UCL, to analyse data and develop bioinformatic approaches.

• Analyse and interpret experimental results; contribute to publications and presentations.

Qualifications

• Essential: A Ph. D. in molecular biology, neurobiology, or a related field.

• Skills required: Expertise in handling preclinical animal models and conducting in vitro experiments (e. g. , cell culture, molecular biology techniques).

• Preferred: Experience in computational biology and systems biology for data analysis.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills; willingness to collaborate internationally.
