In order to strengthen our engineering team we are looking to hire a** Powertrain Energetic Simulation Specialist** based in Maranello (Italy).
You will be an integral part of the Powertrain Simulation & Know-How Team.
Your primary responsibility will be to create and develop engine and transmission models in 0-D, 1-D, and 3-D environments.
These models will be used to evaluate the performance of oil and water circuits, design their layouts, and specify the key component characteristics.
You will work closely with various teams within the Powertrain Department and other R&D areas to validate and develop models.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Analyse and optimize the heat exchange of the engine heated jacket.
- Size heat exchangers to ensure optimal performance.
- Evaluate and enhance the hydraulic performance of vehicle water cooling circuits.
- Size engine oil pumps and design blow-by circuit layouts.
- Conduct sloshing simulations for oil and water tanks, engine crankcase, and transmissions.
- Develop and optimize the engine gasoline injection circuit.
- Design and improve oil circuit lubrication systems.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the integration of components and systems.
- Engage in collaborative activities with universities to develop innovative methodologies and content.
In order to succeed in this challenging role, you will ideally have achieved excellent academic results with a Master-degree in Engineering or equivalent.
You should ideally have gained at least 3 years' dedicated experience in cooling and lubrication system simulations.
Proficiency in using CFD 1-D tools for circuit simulations and CFD 3-D tools for simulating flushing and pump performance are required to manage the activities.
Knowledge of CFD SPH Meshless tools and familiarity with CAD software are considered as an advantage.
In Ferrari you must exhibit the capability to work in a highly-dynamic and fast-changing environment, strong communication skills and accountability are important skillset to manage activities and responsibility of the role.
It is important to be proactive proposing new solutions to optimize all the processes and activities.
Fluent English is required for the position and Italian language skills are an advantage.
