Powertrain Software Business Manager
In powertrain we are looking for a technical software business manager, you will be responsible for shaping the framework for the programme delivery for our software projects and managing the business of our department, managing suppliers and department resource and budgets.
There are 3 main aspects to the role.
1.
You will ensure our software programme delivery adheres to and respects our own processes within the agile framework.
You will provide process leadership across the wider department throughout the product cycle from control system design through to released and validated software.
You will ensure best practice and technical excellence in our programme delivery, by developing processes and ensuring engineers are skilled to deliver within the framework you define 2.
You will be business lead for powertrain software, you will manage the relationships and commercial status with our partners, manage department resource and budgets across the teams, supporting escalation topics with your technical knowledge and expertise.
3.
You will be line manager for the team, you will support the team with career development, objective setting, recruitment and other activities, ensuring that the team are embedded into the delivery squads and providing a consistent programme delivery response across the wider teams in powertrain.
4.
Development of software programme delivery processes and ensuring adherence to process across the team.
5.
Drive consistency of project tracking and escalation using company Metrics (AIMS, RMDV, ITP, DV tracking) Training will be given on company processes and tools if you are not familiar with our systems.
6.
Ensure best practice in managing calibration database through CRETA 7.
Managing SW suppliers and managing against budgets.
8.
Managing outsource suppliers within budgets 9.
Managing department and programme budgets (ED&T, headcount, Overheads and Outsource) 10.
Management & development of team organisation, and skillsets therein.

Alignment with related groups across the Engineering and wider organisation 12.
Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested Knowledge, Skills and Experience * Demonstrated ability to deliver software projects.
* Experience in successfully managing a team * Knowledge of propulsion calibration and controls systems is an advantage.
* Experienced in project delivery throughout entire lifecycle.
* Proven team leadership and management skills * Ability to build strong, valuable relationships at all levels of the business.
* Ability to work under demanding programme and business constraints.
* Project management tools, including AGILE & JIRA Personal Profile * Passionate about creating and delivering new automotive technologies.
* Self-motivated, with strong personal & team management capabilities.
* Able to work with minimal supervision, engaging a wide range of stakeholders effectively.
* Pro-active in identifying and acting on needs for future improvements, technical or organisational.
* Resilient and enthusiastic, an individual able to deliver results, whilst responding constructively to new ideas and inputs.
* A dynamic and determined individual, highly driven, committed and results-orientated with significant pace, energy and confidence.
Able to combine a short term, pragmatic focus with strategic vision.
