Pre-Sales Consultant
About the Role
The Pre-Sales Consultant will partner with our Sales, Products, Technology, and Research teams to ensure that Morningstar's solutions are designed effectively combining Morningstar capabilities in a scalable and sustainable way to meet our clients' business needs and requirements.
The primary function of this role, as industry expert, will be to work directly with the sales team to understand the requirements of potential clients and to design an effective solution.
This role will also require, to collect and translate market needs into product ideas to present to the Product Management team.
Job Responsibilities
To support and consult the sales team to be successful, by defining the business value of Morningstar solutions through tasks including the following:
Operational walkthroughs / Discovery
+ Assist during the discovery sessions to walk through an organization's current business model, needs, and challenges they are facing
+ Present Morningstar's understanding of the client needs and any challenges they are facing
+ Design, create and present a recommended Morningstar solution which meets the client's needs while being innovative, scalable and sustainable following Morningstar best practices
+ Work with the Business Development team to design and structure potential opportunities which are involving different capabilities to offer a sophisticated solution by leveraging multiple Morningstar products or services
+ Ensures solution is consistent with Morningstar strategy
+ Illustrate how the proposed solution will provide business benefit and provide ballpark cost for the service/delivery of the identified solution
Expand the horizon / Industry knowledge
+ Share industry insights and what other similar institutions are doing with Morningstar
+ Provide a comprehensive demonstration of relevant Morningstar capabilities
+ Collect and translate market and local needs into product ideas to present to the Product Management team
Key responsibilities
+ Support the Sales team in pitches to prospects
+ Create mock-ups and/or prove of concepts to concretely show or prove the value of Morningstar capabilities
+ Seek and find existing unknown capabilities we can offer and share them with the sales team to unlock possible opportunities.
+ Share interesting solutions developed across the region and the globe which could be replicated in other countries
+ Collect and translate market needs and trends into product ideas to present to the Product Management team
+ Personalize Morningstar story and value proposition
+ Consult the sales team qualifying leads by using your industry knowledge and deep understanding of Morningstar capabilities
+ Contribute to Pre-Sales Go To Market initiatives
**Qualifications**:
+ Fluency in English and Italian; Knowledge of another European languages is a plus
+ Excellent writing, communication, problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills
+ Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities and deadlines
+ A friendly professional demeanor and ability to excel in a highly collaborative team environment
+ Familiarity with Morningstar products and capabilities
+ A bachelor's degree is required.
MBA or CFA is a plus
