Presales Engineer
The Presales engineer will support the sales teams and the reseller channel by providing product advice and training, advice on licensing and technical queries and talking to / visiting end-users of larger organizations in order to facilitate product sales.
They are expected to be product experts with a strong knowledge in IT systems and the threat landscape.
Their role is more encompassing than simply technical support and although not a sales person they will have a bearing on the sales into larger enterprise customers.
RoleSupport the sales team in handling more technical enquiries from larger end-user customersDiscussing technical aspects of the products with end-usersTrain resellers and ESET staff on products and their applicationBe a central source of knowledge for the sales and marketing teams on all aspects of the product, its licensing and impact / integration in broader IT systemsBe an ESET evangelist both at end-user meetings and eventsKeep up-to-date on industry knowledge and news on a technical basisAssist and develop onsite or remote PoC's, Demos and customer engagementParticipate in sales strategy planning, customer design, technical evaluations and sales callsActivitiesProvide technical sales advice to the internal and external sales teams on specific enquiriesUndertake product training sessions for ESET staffUndertake product and technical training sessions for resellers and their staff (time required away)Undertake web demonstrations to key customers and resellersUndertake onsite demonstrations to prospective customers and resellers (time required away)Attend exhibitions and conferences to provide technical product advice (time required away)Prepare and undertake monthly product webinars to the reseller channel and end-usersManage KPI's and personal goalsEssential SkillsPrevious experience providing technical support to both end-users and resellersExperience with security software and their application within an IT environmentAble to present confidently to senior IT staff specializing in IT Security (CISO level)Enterprise network knowledgeAn understanding of encryption technologiesAn understanding of server infrastructure and domain configurationUnderstands (Intermediate admin) Operating system configuration (Windows, Mac, Linux)Able to evaluate an enterprise's security posture and provide expert recommendations for implementing effective security solutionsProficiency in identifying, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents, providing strategic guidance to ensure effective threat mitigation and comprehensive risk managementAble to travel and stay away as and when requiredFull valid driver's licenseDesirable SkillsPrevious experience delivering trainingPrevious experience in presenting IT productsIn-depth knowledge of the security software industry and ESET competitorsComplete ESET product knowledgeEducationBachelors IT degree or an equivalent qualification with relevant professional experience
