Process Control & Automation Project Leader
PROCESS CONTROL & AUTOMATION PROJECT LEADERHe/She is responsible for the activities pertaining to the discipline within a project, in compliance with the assigned budget and the project schedule, assuring cost optimization.
The Project Leader provides feedback to the Head of Department concerning problems arising from the application of standard methods and work instructions to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
He/She conducts technical training as per department and company needs and exchanges experience with colleagues of the entire group for new design techniques and keeps himself/herself up-to-date about the technical specific improvements of the discipline.
Key Activities & Responsibilities Prepare and discuss with the Project Team (PD/PM and PEM) and the Head of Department the execution strategy of the project, and assure its application throughout the entire project life. Cooperate with the Project Engineering Manager and other Project Leaders for the preparation, application, and maintenance of the project procedures, in compliance with the contractual requirements. Participate in the definition of project schedule, coordinated by the Project Engineering Manager, and guarantee the congruence and feasibility for the part of the project under his/her responsibility. Ensure the coordination of the activities of the discipline regardless of the location and distribution of the engineering centers, guaranteeing the consistency of the documents with the contract, respect of the time schedule, implementation of the contract requirements, compliance with the assigned budget (both cost and man-hours), and quality of the deliverables, under the guidance of the Project Engineering Manager and in cooperation with other Project Leaders. Interact with client representatives and vendors for all technical topics impacting the project both in time and costs. Assist the Project Engineering Manager in the identification and application of technical solutions to optimize project costs while respecting contractual requirements. Provide assistance to departments responsible for inspection, construction, and commissioning activities upon request, as per project needs. Personal Attributes: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering in engineering companies or manufacturers of static equipmentAt least four years of experience as a project leaderExperience in coordinating international working groupsFluent English speaker and writerAvailability to travel for short periods in Italy and abroadPast experiences in autonomously executing tasks on projectsPast experiences on control systems factory acceptance tests and/or plant erection/commissioningSeniority levelMid-Senior level
