Job Title: Process Performance Expert Job Type: Full-Time Reports To: Chief Technology & Operation Officer Job Summary: The Process Performance Expert plays a vital role in monitoring and evaluating processes to identify optimization opportunities within anaerobic digestion, biogas treatment and upgrading, wastewater treatment facilities, and other utility-related processes. This position actively supports operation teams to identify operational improvements to maximize efficiency, ensure efficient substrate utilization, maximize biogas and biomethane production, as well as related by-products, while aiming to minimize operational expenditures. This role is pivotal in optimizing the global efficiency of all Verdalia Bioenergy facilities through the digital platform of performance evaluation. Key Responsibilities: Process Optimization: Support the operational teams to enhance and achieve optimum performance and efficiency of all processes in Verdalia facilities: anaerobic digestion, biogas treatment and upgrading, wastewater treatment facilities, and other utility-related processes. Monitoring and Analysis: Regularly monitor performance of all biological processes in Verdalia facilities, evaluating biological and non-biological key parameters and indicators to assess performance and define operational decisions. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues related to mechanical and/or biological performance; including inhibitions, imbalances, chemical equilibriums, balance in microbial communities and process consumption efficiencies. Resolve technical issues, record solutions and develop best practices. Research and Development: Support the research and development team with Return of Experience aiming to identify opportunities to improve existing processes and implement new technologies for better performance. Data Management and Digital Development: Manage Verdalia's digital platform of performance evaluation with accurate records of process parameters, performance metrics, and global data benchmarking and processing. Compliance: Ensure all processes comply with local, state, and national environmental regulations. Collaboration: Work closely with the technology and engineering teams as well as operations, technicians, and other stakeholders to achieve optimal plant performance. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in process engineering, chemical engineering or a related field. Experience: 10 years proven experience in direct operation of anaerobic digestion and wastewater treatment biological systems. Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis software, excellent problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of microbial processes, biochemistry, and environmental regulations. Preferred Attributes: Experience with both aerobic and anaerobic microorganisms. Familiarity with biogas production and utilization. Experience with mechanical and chemical associated parameters and equipment. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Working Conditions: Primarily office-based with very frequent visits to the production plants. Requires frequent travel to other company sites or industry events. May involve occasional evening or weekend work to meet project deadlines or address operational issues.
