Procurement Manager - Solar Power Plant Construction

Department: Solar Power Plant Construction

**Purpose of Position

The Procurement Manager use technical knowledge of the industry to order equipment from the local market for the company.

The role may also negotiate with suppliers & subcontractors and oversee the delivery and payment processes.

**Position in Company Operational Structure

- **Reports to**: Project Director

- **Liaises with**: Project Manager, Construction Manager, Suppliers

- **Subordinate Positions**: Procurement Engineers

**General Description of duties

**Required Skills**:

- Effective verbal and written communication skills

- Proficiency with personal computers and networking, specifically Microsoft Excel & Office 365 enviroment

- Ability to analyse bills of material and drawings to understand key requirements

- Knowledge and direct experience in negotiating contracts and quotations with Contract Manufacturers and Suppliers

- Analytical skills

- Ability to negotiate contracts

- Advance level in English & Italian is a prerequisite.

- Flexibility to travel to the project site.

**Required Work Experience**:

- 3-5 years experience

- Preferably experience in Renewable Market

**Required Educational Level**:

- University Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering

- Proven Experience of the local Market (CIS)

- Experience in an engineering, procurement and operations

- Effective verbal and written communication skills

**Detailed description of duties

- Support the and Report to Project Director & Project Managers

- Manages the project in schedule as agreed before start of the project.

- Analyse all suppliers in order to select the most suitable suppliers who are able to deliver high quality products at competitive pricing.

- Negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality so as to obtain the maximum benefit for the company.

- Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery performance, schedule and quality.

- Ensure commercial, legal and contractual compliances in all the procurement transactions.

- Define and maintain documented category and supplier strategies using market and competitive data.

- Liaise with suppliers on delivery schedule so as to ensure on-time deliveries of final product.

- Perform regular performance review with suppliers to drive continuous improvements.

- Review and manage the supplier base to ensure consistency with the sourcing strategy.

- Meet with supervisors and department heads to understand the needs across the company

- Forecast needs and supplies

- Review and negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers

- Delegate tasks to the procurement team

- Train new employees and support team members as necessary

- Knowledge of the local market

- Manage inventory

- Ensure partners continue to meet company needs
