This role will be within the KitchenAid Major Domestic Appliance Business Organization, reporting into the Head of Marketing alongside Consumer Experience and other Product & Brand team members.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Leverage brand architecture with consumer insights to drive fact-based, consumer-centric product innovation.
- Develop and maintain deep understanding of cooking industry dynamics and competitive landscape to determine short-term and long-term product needs
- Translate Voice of Consumer into Voice of Engineering through the Consumer Solution Roadmap, ensuring brand need & fit for new product ideas/features
- Scope potential projects, collaborating cross-functionally to develop project initiation documentation.
- Understand consumer needs and shopping behavior to ensure winning execution in product design and aesthetics (First Moment of Truth) and functional benefits (Second Moment of Truth)
- Track and predict competitive launches to maintain a product gap analysis and competitive futuring prediction
- Champion the consumer experience and how that can translate into product and digital app experiences.
- Work closely with consumer insights, design, category managers, trade marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and sales markets to develop and execute our five year product roadmap.
- Support the development and execution of wall oven and microwave Advanced Development programs - including but not limited to: Cooking Category Insights, Product Plans, and Strategic Projects
- Implement the WPD (Whirlpool Product Development) Planning Process for the category in support of Marketing leadership
- Work with finance team to develop and present project business cases including pro forma financials, capital requirements, and other financial and non-financial decision metrics
**Minimum requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience in brand marketing and product development
**Preferred skills and experiences**:
- Master's or other advanced degree
- Firm grasp of product positioning and launching new products across integrated marketing campaigns
- Passion for consumer insights and experience leveraging data / trends to generate insights and transform them into marketing strategies.
- Omni-channel brand marketing storytelling with an understanding of digital marketing
- Experience leveraging data and trends to generate insights and transform them into marketing strategies
- Ability to plan and think strategically at a high level, but also develop tactical recommendations and execute on them
- Ability to influence and lead others, including those outside of the Marketing function
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of independence
- Ability to find opportunity in the ambiguous, then organize to execute with excellence
- Exceptional communicator with impeccable interpersonal & presentation skills
- Great work ethic, curiosity, resourcefulness and willingness to learn
