Position Summary What is your role? We're looking for a Product Cost Engineer to join our Friction Tech Team in Barge (CN). Reporting to the Cost Engineering Manager, you will work in a uniquely high-performing, inclusive and collaborative working culture, with responsibility for the product cost engineering in Friction Tech around the world.
The Product Cost Engineer will take care of the realization and estimation of the Technical Cost of the product and the creation of Target Cost of buy components. The activity consists of the development of tools for estimating and budgeting the various cost components of the product: cost of raw material, cost of semi-finished products, process cost, cost of labor. The enhancement of the above elements must be achieved through the development of specific techniques based on historical data, similarities, and prices received from the Purchasing Department.
Essential Responsibilities As part of the activities related to Product Cost Engineering, the Product Cost Engineer will be in charge of:
Cost estimation of product costs: apply or develop a methodology to estimate the technical cost of product. Cost analysis of buy components: apply or develop cost analysis method of buy components. Support to Sales Team for cost optimization during the preparation of quotations. Development of cost models for estimating the cost of the product. Suggest improvements for the cost estimation process. It will be essential for the candidate to develop a deep knowledge of the product and of the process and an acute capacity for estimation and evaluation. Skills in data analysis and management (Excel, etc. ), mental flexibility, and technical-commercial sensitivity are considered indispensable requirements.
The candidate will have to collaborate with many departments (including R&D, Purchasing, Technical Office, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management) and therefore have a profound capacity for relationship and conflict management. Particular focus is required in the search for new and challenging approaches that allow to improve process efficiency, staff productivity, and response times to internal customers.
Furthermore, the task includes supporting the training of resources on principles, methods, techniques, and tools to develop new internal skills.

Proficient use of IT tools; Excel, SAP (or ERP in general), and Access. Good knowledge of the English language. Knowledge of cost analysis methodologies. Knowledge of industrial processes.
