Your Role and Responsibilities In this role, you will support the Product Engineering department managing all the activities related to the metal tools and the related processes, according to the required technical specifications. The resource will be involved in both active products and new product introduction and will be instrumental for addressing all the technical improvements. The resource will also support the Product Engineering Department with other activities such as product cost monitoring, product cost optimization, capex monitoring, and process optimization. The work model for the role is: LIOnsite You will be mainly accountable for: Analyzing 3D / 2D technical documents for new metal components and evaluating the manufacturing feasibility. Identifying technological criticalities and suggesting modifications to improve the manufacturing feasibility. Leading supplier efficiency evaluation, monitoring robustness of external manufacturing setup (i. e. OEE, equipment effectiveness) and ensuring compliance of the production processes respecting the targets in terms of safety, cost, on-time delivery, and quality. Supporting the production startup and ramp-up of the metal tools and metal processes. Being involved in the decision-making process to allocate tools to existing suppliers. Acting as the single point of contact between the Product Engineers, suppliers, and all the other ABB functions (e. g. procurement, planning, R&D, etc). Defining the technical specifications of the metal tools. Ensuring that the design and the tool development done by the external supplier meets the ABB expectations. Supporting and supervising suppliers' tools, sampling activities, and suppliers' process setup. Managing the product cost monitoring of all the family breakers produced. Supporting the Product Engineering department in assessing and addressing all the improvement activities which may provide benefit without losing safety and quality standards. Coordinating the POD (Product Optimization Design) process for being the focal point for all the activities within the factory. Monitoring the cost savings coming from the POD activities and following up with all the relevant functions. Supporting the Product Engineering Manager with the Capex monitoring (for both product and process capex). Qualifications for the Role You enjoy working with manufacturing technologies. You have a few years of experience in a similar position. You possess an enhanced knowledge of products and product costs. You are passionate about teamwork, speediness, and problem-solving. You are innovative in delivering results by taking responsibility to execute assigned tasks and projects. You hold a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Electronic Engineering.
