Product Owner
The Product Owner (PO) works in an Agile environment and continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, outlines milestones and deliverables, and identifies opportunities and risks. Along with all the team members, the PO is responsible for the development of the squad purpose. The squad cooperates with the product Tribes to develop a frictionless experience. The PO knows the customer's process in accordance with local legislation and regulations. The PO is in charge of setting priorities, managing internal and external stakeholders, solving impediments, and helping squad members in their day-to-day activities. In addition, the PO is accountable for managing and delivering internal reports, optimizing performance, and supporting the bank's strategy. This position requires excellent leadership and communication skills, problem-solving abilities, a data-driven approach, an orientation to detail and process, and the ability to maintain composure under tight deadlines.
This position also demands the ability to work collaboratively in multi-functional teams and across teams.
As a Product Owner, you will have the chance to work on an intense program aimed at moving the whole Core Banking of ING Italy to the next level. You will work closely with teams across countries to ensure a feasible plan, preparation through QBR, and execution/transformation sprint after sprint.
Key responsibilities:
Work with various stakeholders to understand business value, market context, and customer problems.
Document requirements for upcoming product/process releases, ensuring those needs are met and communicating progress/status clearly.
Ensure the squad is fully prepared for the upcoming work through the QBR process (prioritization of features to deliver, stakeholder alignment, ensuring refinements and capacity planning).
Build, prioritize, monitor, and maintain the squad backlog, prioritizing stories for each sprint. Ensure the squad is prepared for the nearest upcoming work through prioritization, agile ceremonies (sprint planning, refinements, etc. ) and monitoring of dependencies and impediments.
Speed up decision-making for the squad by ensuring features/user stories start with the right data and analysis.
Apply agile knowledge to identify, escalate, and remove squad impediments.
Work closely with the team to create new and improved features for processes owned by the squad.
Define and track product and process metrics/KPIs and OKRs on the entire end-to-end value chain. Review improvement areas based on the sprint performance of the squad and work with them to achieve the goals.
Take care of the assets allocated to the squad in terms of IT Risk and IT Security.
Work with chapter leads and the rest of the Tribe to identify areas of improvement and make them successful.
Ensure end-to-end quality through the release train process and monitoring of defects and production incidents.
Required skills and experience:
5+ years of work experience in Product Management/Project Management within complex IT projects.
Excellent data analysis skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e. g. , executive, management, individual contributors).
Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to define and handle product/process requirements and backlog.
Knowledge of the tools, techniques, and principles used in Lean-Agile development.
Creative mindset with the ability to conceive interesting ideas for new content.
Strong risk awareness.
Result-oriented.
Excellence in execution.
Agile knowledge.
Core Banking knowledge (profile is a plus).
