This position reports to

Quality Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will support the deployment of the quality strategy for a local organizational unit, including quality culture, systems, tools, and competent teams with the aim to achieve and exceed customer expectations, while ensuring sustainable operations.

Each day, you will assist the organization in achieving the right mix of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, quick response, and sustainable solutions to problems.

You will collaborate with local functions that impact the quality results to reach the targets for the organizational unit and aim for world-class performance.

The work model for the role is: onsite.

This role contributes to the Electrification Service division in North America.

You will be mainly accountable for:Visual inspection: Examining incoming items for visible defects ensuring they meet required specifications and standards.

Perform Dimensional checks: Using measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, or any other to verify dimensions and tolerances of components against specifications.

Documentation and reporting: Recording inspection findings including details about defects, non-conformances, and any corrective actions taken, tagging them appropriately, and initiating necessary disposition actions like returning to supplier or scrap.

Supplier communication: Reporting quality issues to suppliers, including providing detailed information on defects and requesting corrective actions.

Quality System compliance: Developing and maintaining Quality Plans, Control Plans, and inspection checklists.

Monitoring and analyzing QA metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance product quality.

Responsible for maintaining and complying with the Quality notification Process.

Participate as internal Auditor and in Suppliers audits to ensure compliance with standards as ISO 9001:2015 and 10CFRPart 50 Appendix B.

Qualifications for the role Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or similar, with at least 3 years of experience in Quality department working as Incoming Inspection Engineer or Product Quality Assurance Engineer; or alternately a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments in Quality.

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Proficiency with measuring tools and inspection equipment.

Strong experience in resolution problem solving processes.

Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs and SAP Quality Module.

Internal Auditor certified in ISO 9001:2015 is desirable.

Knowledge in 10CFRPart 50 Appendix B is desirable.

This role does not include relocation.

Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
