WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Product Specialist

Primary functions will be to report to and support the goals of the Global Product Manager(s) and work closely with Platform Manager(s) to define product strategy based on market and business needs and to translate customer and market needs into technical requirements to be used by engineering team(s) to develop products and features.

Also, to ensure that current products meet customer expectations by prioritizing product issues and driving their resolution.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- New product definition: Monitor key global market activities (customer product issues, competitive practices and products, industry trends, etc. )

to use as input into the product line strategies, customer requirements and product definitions for assigned products.

Make sure that the new product is harmonized inside the Strategic Product Range Plan (SPRP) defined by the brands.

- Develop and document in detail: Product definitions and product requirement documents that meet the needs of the brand strategies, customer expectations, and drive the product development process.

Translate product requirement & customer needs information into technical requirement documents required to direct engineering towards the technology needed to achieve results.

- Build strong relationships with the brands' regional marketing teams to understand global markets.

To identify the best-in-class and to establish targets for new project.

- Develop a benchmarking strategy and plan that insures we are meeting our competitive position goals for new and current products.

- Product Profile release: description of performance, packaging, quality, reliability, serviceability, fuel consumption, TCO (Total Cost of Ownership), product cost, etc. .

- Product Offering (PO) release: PO is the upper level product structure that identifies the Commercial offering and maps it to the corresponding upper level Bill of Material.

- Release and maintenance of Feature and Specifications manual

- Support platform and global product managers to assimilate required information to support program milestone reviews, including facilitation of Option, Pricing, & Volume input sheets for major projects and to assist Platform decisions on product development project feasibility and priority.

- Help appraise new product innovation ideas to determine their potential to address customer needs and to achieve goals in revenue growth and market share.

- Determines the build configurations for Functional, Development, Pre-Build and 4P units, in consultation with other functions, to be sure that testing, marketing, product support and homologation needs are considered.

- Provide support to markets about product configuration for ordering and to address any special request

YOUR KEY COMPETENCES AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ability to work with mínimal supervision managing multiple projects and tasks;

- Aptitude to recognize road blocks and escalate issues as needed;

- Aptitude in cross-functional team building skills;

- Ability to break down complex tasks or requirements into simpler more manageable tasks;

- Knowledge of competitive products and practices is a plus;

- Highly developed problem-solving skills;

- Proven communication skills across multiple levels and work groups;

- An extensive amount of independent thinking is required;
