Silica focuses on highly dispersible silica, used primarily in fuel-efficient and performance tires.
The primary focus of the business is to develop innovative solutions for global tire manufacturers.
**Job Overview and Responsibilities**:
The Mission
To ensure production schedules in production units are met under the best cost, quality and
time conditions and in accordance with QHSE standards, regulations and customer
requirements.
To manage and develop the own team, and to improve the unit's performances on a mid and long-term basis.
Key Responsibilities
ENSURE COMPLIANCE WITH HSE REGULATION, QUALITY STANDARDS AND COMPANY POLICIES
- Ensure that all new staff obtains the required HSE related training.
- Organize the safety control planning and ensure realization of the corrective actions.
- Decide on precautions to be taken in case of incidents.
- Analyze, in collaboration with the HSE department, critical incidents in the domain of HSE in order to prevent them in the future.
- Make sure shut down (turnaround) are done safely.
MANAGE THE PRODUCTION PROCESS
- Define production schedules and plan necessary resources
- Monitor material stock and produced quantities in order to maintain the production schedule.
- Coordinate the investigation of production incidents and the timely response to customer
concerns.
- Monitor order-booking, delivery and complaint handling procedures performed by Customer Service.
- Define procedures in order to cope with non-conformity products.
- Coordinate, with Maintenance, the maintenance planning and budget and ensure their alignment with the production scheduling.
ENSURE MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENTS AND INNOVATION
- Benchmark for best practices and competitive examples in other production units, and evaluate their applicability in the own unit.
- Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the entity.
- Steer and promote Manufacturing Excellence and Innovation programs.
- Permanently evaluate and improve production processes.
- Initiate and deploy process improvement projects in cooperation with the GBU Technology Department.
MANAGE THE OWN DEPARTMENT AND INTERNAL/EXTERNAL INTERACTION AND COLLABORATION
- Define, propose, implement and follow up the departmental budget, objectives, policies and procedures.
- Define team structure and the resources / critical skills needed.
- Report to management results and developments realized in the department.
- Manage and coordinate between all (internal and external) parties involved in the well
- functioning of the production facility.
- Participate to operational meetings with GBU.
MANAGE THE OWN STAFF
- Define objectives for, lead, motivate, coach, develop and evaluate the members of the own team.
- Ensure knowledge and expertise is maintained, developed and exchanged within the team.
- Participate in the selection, rotation and promotion of team members.
- Participate to the messages to communicate and bring up feedback from the organization.

**Education and Experience**:
Chemical Engineering (we could also take into consideration Industrial Chemistry degree on the base of the specific experience)
5/8 years experience;
Experienced professional with a good background in industrial Chemical Process vision.
Will be consider a plus an experience in similar technical roles, grown up in industrial reality of the chemistry section in factories referred to the Seveso Directive with high risk.
**Skills**:
Full appropriation of Performance Management: To pilot and improve KPIs to drive the production performance, using appropriate methods.
Experienced in typical operation of Process chemical industry (reaction, distillation, extraction L/L, drying, crystallization ) and associated technologies, knowledge of thermodynamic and science of heat / cold generators, boilersand knowledge of fluid mechanics.
Fluent verbal and written language skills in English and Italian.
French is considered a plus
Self-starters with capability for information gathering, analytical skills and conceptual thinking.
Excellent skills to switch by the activities of a plant environment to office activities.
Good listening skills and observation.
Excellent ability to adapt and seek valuable opportunities from changes needs
Capability to work in total integration with the Technical Services/Maintenance, HSE, Quality and Supply Chain Teams.
The positions requires also a high grade of interaction with the central teams from the GBU and the other Sites in Europe, and the world.
