Program Controls Specialist

**Honeywell** is looking for a **program controls specialist **for our Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) division based out of Italy and covering Italy, Switzerland and Austria.

**Role Overview**:
Supports all Project Controls requirements for HBS (Honeywell Building Solutions) projects in the Alpine region as a productive team member by participating in all project stages.
Functionally reports to the Projects Controls Supervisor in the region within which he/she operates.
**Your responsibilities**:
- Maintains project cost and schedule tools used by HBS to accurately measure, forecast and track project-related work, and associated timely delivery of these products, including resource planning.
- Ensures the accuracy of earned value data on allocated projects.
- Works closely with project management, contract management, engineering and construction personnel to define detailed measurement and scheduling criteria.
- Assists, and sometimes takes lead, in producing and maintaining project schedules and associated deliverables tracking inc EVM.
- Participates in project planning processes, defining scopes, establishing WBS & budgets on allocated projects.
- Ensures that project control procedure compliance & standards are allocated to projects.
- Works with Project Managers to produce accurate cost estimates for change orders and maintains the change log/variance log in Cora PPM.
- Works with Business Management (Program Managers, Directors, and Finance management) to report both project and program forecasts.
- Contributes and oversees coordination of monthly project status reports to customers.
- Performs project cost risk analysis for developing project contingency budgets and maintains run down curves for continued project cost risk assessment.
- Manages the receivables & payables balance on allocated projects.
- Leads and insures accurate and timely project invoicing to associated customers.
- Participates in project risk reviews.
- Work is usually office based but depending on individual project requirements the position may require occasional travel to and / or work in client facilities or remote construction locations.
**Must have**:
- High school and some college
- Understanding of project management/controls.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and advanced intermediate in Excel specifically.
- Knowledge of cost estimating, tracking and control
- Hands on experience with enterprise wide cost accounting system, SAP preferred
- Proactive and resourceful self-starter, with ability to multi-task.
- Being ambitious, self-motivated, hard-working, results orientated, problem solver with a positive outlook and a clear focus on driving profit.
- Ability to balance between short term achievement and long-term development.
- Being a natural forward planner who critically assesses their own performance.
- Strong communication skills
**Preferred**:
- Bachelors' Degree in engineering or project management preferred.
- Advance Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Basic knowledge of VBA is a plus.
- Knowledge of business concepts and processes, including contracts, finance, and cash flow.
- Basic knowledge of Scheduling (MS Project and/or Primavera).
- Basic negotiation & conflict management skills.
- Experience with multi-disciplined projects (engineering, software development, construction, and procurement).
- The ability to interpret relationships between cost, schedule and resource requirements and how they relate to stated business objectives.
- Experience in presenting project cost and schedule data to both project teams and upper management.
- Experience with schedule and commercial reporting on technical scope execution.
- Certification from PMI is a plus.
