To design and implement new programs in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 Agenda, governments and the global community will require more data, cheaper, and of better quality.
By strengthening the capacity of national statistical systems to produce high-quality and timely agricultural data, the main objective of the Initiative is to achieve by 2030 sustainable data systems owned and operated by the Initiative's 50 partner countries.
The World Bank is looking for a Program Officer with strong partnership management and organization skills to join the Program Management Team of the 50x2030 Initiative.
Duties and Accountabilities: Contribute to the coordination of the country engagement and onboarding processes, including inception missions, negotiation of memoranda of agreement and project agreements with the partner governments. Develop the 50x2030 Initiative's work plans, project documents, concept notes and operation manuals across the three Initiative components. Collaborate and coordinate with the WB projects' Task Team Leaders (TTLs). Contribute to the negotiation and drafting of partnership agreements, project documents, Memoranda of Understanding, etc. Contribute to the International Development Association's (IDA) resources mobilization. Ensure information relevant to the planning, implementation and monitoring of activities are shared and managed efficiently. Contribute to the preparation of reports, analyses and reviews related to the implementation of the initiative. Perform other related duties, as required. Selection Criteria Master's degree in Economics, Political Science, International Relations, Development Management, Public/Administrative law or other related fields. At least five years of relevant experience in capacity development, program coordination, and strategic planning. Experience in working on statistical capacity development with developing countries, working within a multi-partner Secretariat highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex relationships with partners, colleagues and content experts. Proven record of development and implementation of complex strategic plans. Proven knowledge and experiences in public data governance and national statistical systems, especially in LMICs. Self-motivated, creative, with excellent organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with a willingness to work in a team environment. Other Selection Criteria Pro-activity. Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Proficient in English and French. Experience with World Bank operations and good knowledge of statistical capacity building projects. Proven writing and editing skills, and ability to convey complex ideas in a creative, clear, direct, and lively style. Experience supporting activities such as proposal writing, and organization of training programs, workshops, and dissemination events.
