Purpose of the positionTo support the Infrastructure Business division in its transition to a system and solution provider, ensuring professional planning and execution of customer projects in close cooperation with internal Kistler departments (sales, service, admin, production, and engineering) together with external partners/suppliers. This position is focusing on two applications WIM (Weigh in Motion) and SHM (Structural Heath Monitoring). The candidate will be located in the Kistler offices in Milan and will be reporting to the Sales Coordinator Traffic Solution-Southern EMEA, funtionally managed by KIT tech office manager. When not involved in specific projects, he/she will support KIT sales department as Inside Sales Representative.
Your typical dayThe role "Project Coordinator" demands a diverse skill set with hands-on approach and problem-solving mindset. It includes tasks and responsibilities around project preparation and planning (engineering), as well as service and support. Together with other team members you are involved in the implementation of the project in all its sub-phases. Every project is a team effort!
Lead project planning, execution, and commissioning for strategic customer projects, positioning Kistler as a top-tier system/solution supplier. Clarification of requirements and development of a technical solution in collaboration with Sales, Service & CustomerCultivate strong customer relationships for repeat business and growth withinthe Corporate Region WestFeasibility checks through PoC or development of a prototype. Obtaining quotations from suppliers and testing/qualification of 3rd party devicesPreparation of a project offer including sales/cost calculation and technical solution descriptionCad drawing handling to analyze and prepare the products layout, to provide draft of the project / solution for each Customer request. Site inspection to finalize the quotation. Customers meeting to define the Customer needsServe as the primary contact for customer support, troubleshooting, and technical coordination with external suppliers on system pilots and commercial sites. Build and maintain proactive customer relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Collaborate with sales, application specialists, and Business Units to develop a high-performance service operation. Deliver projects on time and within budget, supporting sales in invoicing service efforts to sustain the position's costs and generate revenue. Support the development of a best-in-class service operation, contributing to the growth of recurring service revenue. Customers' orders handling in SAP. Customers contracts analysisDevelop detailed project plans in collaboration with Sales and customers. Development of "technical specification" between Customer and KISTLER. Monitor the project budget and timeline continuously. Material procurement via SAP or subcontractors. Factory and On-Site acceptance testing (System configuration)Active on-site participation during inspection, installation, commissioning, testing, calibration, and final customer acceptance. Provide application engineering services during peak service demand or for high-priority customer needs. Partner with the business unit for strategic development, aligning project management, execution, and service delivery with market goals. Contact point in case of customer support, periodical maintenance, or warranty cases. Analyzing the performance of systems including signal analysisOrganizing trainings, keeping project documentation up to dateMaintenance contracts proposalSpare parts handling (offer and orders)Technical intervention plan and coordination between customer and internal service specialistSafety documentation to ensure all service staff have the rights trainings and qualifications to intervene at customer site. Identify new service, system, and component opportunities and forward leads to the sales team. Other Duties as AssignedYour profileBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field or in electrical engineering background (ideally automatization and measuring technology and/or designing infrastructure)Associated with the national register of engineers, authorized to sign executive projects, System Integration skills on level of hardware (mechanical and electrical) and software (communication protocols and APIs)Basic knowledge in networking, configuration of Web-Managed DevicesStandard Knowledge of MS Office products and Operating systems (Windows/Linux), SAP knowledge is a plusBackground in software development as advantageExperiences with Traffic and Infrastructure monitoring as advantagePro-active hands-on approach, ability to learn. Strong team player with excellent communication skills. Ability to independently establish and manage priorities. Language skills: English spoken (business fluent) and written.
