City of New York - Project Director - New York, New YorkWork Location: 30-30 Thomson Avenue, LIC, NY 11101The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Public Buildings seeks a Project Director for Various Program Units.
The selected candidates will be assigned a portfolio of complex capital projects throughout the five boroughs, including but not limited to design/bid/build, design/build, priority, and emergency projects.
The Project Director will be accountable for the delivery of capital assets, reporting directly to the Unit's Deputy Director and Program Director, and will manage all project phases including scoping, initiation, design, procurement, construction, and post-construction.
The responsive candidate will coordinate and lead project and site meetings, liaise and collaborate with DDC support units and City Agencies including sponsors/providers and regulatory approvers, and manage the performance and deliverables of all vendors including design consultants, commissioning agents, special inspectors, construction managers, and contractors.
The Project Director will utilize all Agency resources to ensure their projects meet DDC's Commitment Plan and KPI objectives, maintain comprehensive project history files and project information tracking system, develop, and maintain project schedules, prepare thorough, accurate, and timely project correspondence and reports, develop and maintain complete project accounting records and timely audit and process all vendors payments.
The selected candidate will also be expected to participate and champion the development of new Agency initiatives, process improvements, and mentorship opportunities. Authorization to work in the United States is required for this position.

Applicants are responsible for ensuring that they meet all qualifying requirements for this position, at the time of application. Qualifications:A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization, and five years of full-time satisfactory experience managing and/or inspecting one or more construction projects which must have a total cost of at least $300, 000 for each of the five years of the required experience; orOne year of the experience as described above and a baccalaureate degree in engineering, architecture, or related field; orOne year of the experience as described above and a valid license as a professional engineer, registered architect, or registered landscape architect; orA four-year high school diploma or its equivalent, and a combination of at least two years of experience as described above and the education as described above to equal a total of five years of education and experience. Driver License Requirement: At the time of appointment, you must have a valid motor vehicle driver license in the State of New York. For Assignment to Level II: Candidates must have one additional year of satisfactory full-time experience working in Assignment Level I. For Assignment to Level III: Candidates must have two additional years of satisfactory full-time experience working in Construction Project Manager Assignment Level I and II.
