Additionally, Jelly Belly, known world-wide for its confections, was acquired in November of 2023. Job Location: BellwoodThis role is based out of our Maywood Drive location in Bellwood and will be a hybrid in-person role.
This role will be partnering closely with our manufacturing plants and will require onsite visits. Want to make an impact? The project engineer will be responsible for the scoping and execution of capital projects ranging from $5, 000 to $5, 000, 000.
They will be responsible to work with all plant-based and corporate stakeholders to ensure projects are executed safely and efficiently. Ways you will make a differenceManages capital projects from concept through executionDevelops and communicates project schedules and conducts product reviewsWorks closely with scheduling and plant personnel for start-up plansEnsures that the end result of the project is what was agreed upon during project submissionSupports manufacturing facilities with technical troubleshootingParticipates in project reviews and audits for safety, quality and feasibilityParticipates in monthly plant meetings and provides updates to senior level operations managementCloses projects in a timely manner ensuring that all stakeholders are trained and readyUnderstands and demonstrates the Company's core valuesConducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to Ferrara safety methodsPerforms other duties as assignedSkills that will make you successfulStrong "hands-on" mechanical aptitude from previous industry experienceAbility to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment design and functional issues, with an emphasis on packaging equipmentPrevious experience in maintenance is a plusPrevious experience executing small and large scale capital projects is requiredCPG/Food manufacturing experience is strongly preferredAbility to create 2D and 3D CAD designs and layouts is requiredAbility to work effectively under pressureAbility to work well in teamsGood organization skillsCompetency using MS office suite and MS Project (excel, word, powerpoint)Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlinesPrevious experience dealing with multiple equipment vendors and managing multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to travel 5-10%, mainly domestic for equipment FATsExperiences that will support your successBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical engineeringMinimum of 7-10 years of industry experience with at least 3-5 years of project engineeringExperience with food manufacturing equipment, both processing and packaging is a plusWhat We OfferAt Ferrara, we're proud to support our employees with comprehensive benefits that enhance health, financial wellness, and include paid time off (PTO).
