Job Description: Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Project Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from technical to managerial and strategic. The position is based in Italy. Mission Overall technical solution delivery on Signalling projects, with special focus on Italian High Speed lines, for bidding and contract phases. Proper execution of the technical activities in terms of technical solution implementation, design costs, document submission schedule and quality.

Accountabilities With reference to a Railway Signalling project, during both the bid or project execution phase:

Ensure the effective implementation of the technical solution according to the requirementsEnsure the technical interface activities toward the Customer, AuthoritiesEnsure that project objectives are clearly communicated to the project team and monitor that technical project activities are aligned with the project scheduleEnsure the monitoring of document submission in terms of time, quality and respect of Technology Cost budget, according to the ContractEnsure project technical activities are executed in line with the Company procedure implementing design and verification process (i. e. design review)Ensure the gathering, checking and authorization of the TCR and that authorized technical change and variation order are traced and implemented inside design activities and included in the Technology project cost revisionEnsure that project technical criticalities/risk list and management is implemented, continuously updated and evaluated with the support of interested Company Functional Manager and the Project ManagerEnsure the proper execution of the correct Document Management (submission and transmittal process), contribute that correct Configuration Management process is in placeEnsure an interface for the technical definition and construction document delivery during execution of on site activitiesGuarantee the execution of the Verification activities of project engineering documents and of documents issued by WPLs by monitoring their execution by the Project' WPLs, according to the V&V PlanContribute to the definition and execution of T&C activities (e. g. acting as interface with other technology unit involved in the project)Required Skills/ Knowledge From 3 up to 5 years of Engineering expertiseKnowledge of Railways signalling systems, architecture, productsKnowledge of ERTMS systems and productsProject ManagementPlanning and MonitoringInterface ManagementProject Quality assuranceSystem Engineering principlesEducation / Qualifications Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Qualifications/ University Degree or Equivalent Technical Background
