OverviewMicrosoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud.

Within CO&I, the Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft's cloud business.

The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects.

We are looking for a passionate, high-energy individual to help build the cloud datacenters that power the world's largest online services.

In this role you will provide leadership to the metros within your region aligning priorities with the EPC functions while supporting the team to overcome obstacles.

While this role can be primarily remote, we are looking for leaders located near one of our regional hub locations.

QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Construction Project Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field AND significant years related experience OR equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Relevant years of experience working on data center projects. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. ResponsibilitiesLead assigned EPC projects and remain accountable to the EPC leadership team. Lead EPC dedicated team towards project success. Maintain active engagement from CO+I Partners and Functional support teams. Proactively share relevant information to enable efficient workflow and anticipate changes that could affect key projects; leads change in plans, goals, actions, or priorities to respond to changing situations. Reinforce a positive team environment by modeling best practices and contributing to team morale. Delegate work within the team to effectively deliver results and seek guidance from management on delegation of resources. OwnershipIn alignment with management priorities, hold self-accountable for EPC delivery of projects and resolve unaddressed issues within his/her area of work. Budget and ControlsMonitor the approved project budget, provide oversight, and suggest necessary adjustments for project controls. Change ManagementPartner with the Internal Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) and other Microsoft key stakeholders to ensure new processes are being followed that increase program cost savings and improve overall cycle-time and efficiencies. CoordinationAttend and advise during scheduled owner/architect/contractor and other project meetings. Drives ResultsFacilitate the delivery of metro-based/campus projects by making timely data-based decisions in partnership with the local project team and key stakeholders. Champion team and project goals, adhering to business processes, and fostering positive cross-group collaboration efforts. Goal AlignmentCollaborate and contribute needed technical knowledge to internal teams and General Contractors/Subcontractors to maintain the corporate vision and goals for the project. Managing ResourcesOversee timely execution of all procurement activities associated with resourcing and materials necessary for delivering program(s) on time and within project budget forecasts. Project ManagementDrive campus-based delivery solutions and assist campus teams in establishing goals for project teams, assigning responsibilities, measuring performance, and seeking feedback to achieve timely results. Project TrackingAssist with creating and reporting on project progress regarding scope, schedule, standards, and budget. Communicate risk mitigation goals and develop metrics to track, communicate, and drive progress. Safety and RegulationRepresent Microsoft as a safety leader and advocate on all Campus/Metro construction programs, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements. Technical AcumenReview engineering documentation/designs and site plans, identifying potential risks/gaps and providing recommendations to mitigate risk. Advise and monitor the performance of vendors and/or contractors, ensuring compliance with contracts.
