**PROP Server Operations Lead** **Department:** Information Technology Division **Office:** Rome NY/AFRL **Location:** Rome , NY **CONTINGENT ON CONTRACT AWARD** **Job Title:** Server Operations Lead **Job Description:** Enterprise Services and Applications (T&M).
Provide enterprise level services and applications for AFRL/RIOS customers and user base.
**Responsibilities:** * Serve as an interface to external Government agencies and military organizations providing policy and directional oversight, as well as mandates over those networks where AFRL/RIOS is responsible.
Maintain currency in all applicable Federal policies, directives, guidelines, and best practices.
Identify and recommend changes to business process upon receipt of new guidance.
Provide cross-functional, inter-disciplinary support and assistance to resolve technical and business process issues.
Utilize the AFRL/RIOS Configuration Management Plan (CMP) to incorporate processes and procedures into a Change Control Board (CCB).
Provide recommendations and changes to improve CM processes and procedures.
Upon CCB chair approval, create, document, and coordinate the execution of a chosen implementation plan to address submitted Change Requests (CR).
Refine CRs to gather additional requirements/information as needed.
Ensure compliance with IA controls as required by the current AF C&A process.
Provide artifacts as required to document compliance.
Identify, maintain, and update information pertaining to lifecycle management of IT assets, both hardware and software.
Ensure compliance with hardware and software licensing requirements.
Identify non-compliance and provide a Plan of Action (POA) to remediate, along with vendor quotes, cost estimates, and impacts to IT lifecycle management and business processes.
Obtain, review, and provide recommendations for hardware and software purchases to include budgetary inputs, funding proposals and requests, vendor quotes, upgrades and replacements for EOL equipment, technology refreshes, and warranty and maintenance service contracts.
* Provide Enterprise Server SMEs reports monthly for all opened warranty and contracted service request.
Notify ADPE custodian when equipment relocates, becomes obsolete or when has Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
Provide full-spectrum ES&A support to the organization and customers.
Provide immediate reaction and continuous awareness/communication of outages and degradations.
Provide weekly communication with customers and staff (updates, training, feedback, troubleshooting).
Systems Management (T&M): Provide System Management services to AFRL/RIOS customers and user base to include Microsoft Windows and Unix/Linux-based variants on a VMware infrastructure which includes ESXi and vCenter.
In support of this service the Contractor shall.
Provide system administration, database management, and provisioning of Virtual Machines (VMs).
Provide virtualization of infrastructure, monitoring, disaster recovery, and scaling of virtual environments.
Provide primary oversight and responsibility for maintaining the overall health of systems.
Establish and maintain the ability to remotely manage and monitor system performance, health and information security compliance.
Manage instances of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) to ensure clients and servers are functioning properly.
* Proactively monitor and analyze system logs in order to identify and resolve issues, which could affect system availability.
Proactively conduct system performance tuning to ensure system uptime and availability.
* Perform user account management for enterprise systems to include the following actions, but not limited to, additions, modifications, updates, and general cleanup and removal of account information and permissions.
Perform, document, and report on storage management for enterprise systems to include, but not limited to, identification and application of storage technologies, manage the availability, capacity, and forecasting of disk utilization.
Perform capacity and availability planning for all enterprise systems.
Develop, implement, and validate a backup and restoration strategy to ensure continuity of system operations.
Monitor and provide feedback for continuous process improvement.
Perform backup and recovery of enterprise systems along with any associated data needed for operation.
**Qualifications:** * Identify, deploy, rollback if needed, and maintain necessary patch levels and modifications.
Create, test and implement software packages and configuration changes in order to comply with NOTAMs, TCNOs, and MTOs.
Validate, test and implement mandated CRs issued by higher-level agencies and organizations.
Document compliance as necessary.
Coordinate system upgrades, updates, configuration changes, and outages through the CR process.
Maintain and provide IT asset management information.

Develop, operate, and maintain systems and infrastructure necessary to host web-based services, to include web, application, and Oracle database support.
* Develop, operate, and maintain systems and infrastructure necessary to host multiple instances of a distributed network-based file system, to include Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies and protocols.
Manage the archived data and software for retrieval for audits or access to historical data.
Develop, implement, and maintain a solution for the visual reporting of real-time health, status, and availability of enterprise systems.

Life Cycle Management of IT and Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C4) systems: (T&M): Ensure that all aspects of the Enterprise, Network, Unified communications, Audio visual and communications hardware and software will not become EOL or unsupportable.

Provide technical studies, review plans, evaluate state of the technologies prior to fielding of new releases or systems.
Review plans and policies and provide observations and questions for consolidated responses.
Research and coordinate technical issues and requirements and draft new and updated policy governing technical issues.
* Provide technical analyses and draft reports of C4 system tests, assessments, and architectures.
Participate in meetings as required by the Government, attend conferences; technical interchange seminars; interoperability meetings; and other briefings related to integration, migration, and maintenance of Command and Control (C2), coalition, and bi-lateral system architectures.
Perform analysis, provide recommendations, and prepare planning documentation to transition current services into the Joint Information Environment (JIE).
Plan large-scale systems and projects through vendor comparison and cost studies and provide input to policy level discussions regarding standards and budget constraints.
Develop Project Charter, Scope and Requirements documents to satisfy project needs.
Maintain all network equipment lists, warranties, EOL dates and budget requirements.
