Accountability: The Installation Proposal Engineer contributes mainly at the tender stage of Power Cable Systems projects and marginally during project construction.

THE ROLE At the tender stage, the main activities include:

Knowledge of the cable market in terms of Customers, Competitors, and SubcontractorsCareful examination of the tender documentation, particularly the technical specificationsExamination of the survey data of the installation provided by the CustomerElaboration of a technical solution in accordance with the above requisitesInternal discussions within Installation Engineering and other Departments on the chosen solutionParticipation in clarifications meetings both internal and with the Customer during tender preparationSite visits, if necessary, to understand logistic aspects of the job and check feasibility of solutionsPreparation and issuing of technical specifications (RFQ) for potential subcontractorsExamination, in collaboration with purchasing dept. , of received proposals from potential subcontractorsDiscussions with Subcontractors to clarify offers and align them with Prysmian/Customer requirementsFine-tuning of the final solution in agreement with relevant Departments such as System Design Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, Logistic, legal, HSE, Quality, Project ManagementElaboration of Installation Costs and assessment of risks associated with installation activitiesPreparation of the Technical Description of the Work and relevant documentation requested by the CustomerAssembly and preparation of the Plan of Work regarding installation activitiesParticipation in negotiations and clarification meetings with the Customer after proposal presentationRevisions of the tender package as necessary due to negotiations or changes in Customer requestsCompliance with internal rules and procedures during the entire processAt the contractual stage, the main activities include:

Participation in internal Kick Off MeetingsTransmittal to the project team and Departments involved in project execution of relevant information such as:CostsQualifications and assumptionsTechnical documentationOther relevant informationParticipation in internal clarification meetings with relevant departmentsTechnical Assistance when required, especially during the period between Contract Signature and execution phaseParticipation in meetings with the Customer and/or Subcontractors during the initial phaseInvolvement during project stages to assess potential changes since the tender stageBASIC REQUIREMENTS Degree in Engineering or other relevant technical disciplinesFluent in English, written and spokenCurious and eager to learn and improve autonomyPrecise, proactive, problem-solving, and target-orientedCapacity to understand and conceptualize complexity into concise frameworksPragmatic, flexible, and capable of managing changes during the workGood relationship approach and team working capabilityKnowledge of common software like Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, AutoCADAvailability for short but possibly frequent trips, domestic and abroadPOSSIBLE ADDED-VALUE REQUIREMENTS Experience in a similar role and areaKnowledge of/experience in submarine cable installation from operative or engineering rolesExperience in proposal engineering activities such as costing, planning, and technical proposal preparationPrysmian, as an Equal Opportunity Employer, aims to attract and recruit individuals with diverse backgrounds, skills, and abilities.
