Job Description
The role
The Proposal Manager will primarily be responsible for writing tenders for Geophysical projects world-wide whilst maintaining excellent relationships with clients through responding to enquiries, active follow-ups and identifying opportunities for Fugro.
Fugro are recruiting for a Proposal Manager to join our commercial department based at our office in Rome.
Your key responsibilities will include the review of client provided Invitations to Tender and using your technical and commercial knowledge to plan surveys by engaging relevant internal/external stakeholders, assigning relevant resources, preparing schedules, preparing prices, identifying project risks, writing the tender documents and liaising with clients.

Who you'll be working with:
You will be working closely with the Commercial Manager to discuss ongoing tenders and review new opportunities, as well as the project and technical team to seek support and input for tenders.
Building a relationship with the other commercial teams within Fugro is essential in ensuring the best commercial strategies for each bid.
Here's what a typical day would be like:
- You receive and assist your colleagues with reviewing Requests for Quotations, developing proposals, creating cost estimates and technical documentations for tender submissions.
- You ensure proposals are produced on time and to the highest company quality standards.
- You liaise with key Fugro commercial staff, including legal, contractual, tax, QHSSE and technical authorities to ensure proposals are aligned with the wider Fugro strategy and meet proposal approval requirements.
- You liaise with Fugro Commercial and Business Development staff to aid with the preparation of winning proposals.
- You assist your colleagues in client meetings for proposal clarification and contract negotiations;
- You maintain CRM systems and KPI monitoring tools with up-to-date information.
- You provide handover briefings and commercial guidance to the Project Management team.
- You contribute to the Fugro marketing strategy and assisting with marketing of company activities.
Your track record:
- You have as a minimum a BSc. degree in Survey, Geology, Geophysics or related disciplines and/or previous work experience in a similar role;
- You have knowledge of the Marine/offshore industries or have a technical background ;
- You anticipate problems, ensure early intervention and you are able to deal with deadlines;
- You are in the possession of excellent influencing and team communication skills, strive for positive outcomes
- Ability to work in team
- You are fluent in English (minimum B2)
- You have strong computer literacy especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
- Open for challenges and continuous learning.
