Reporting to the Associate Director of Prospect Research and serving as a member of the Prospect Development (PD) team within the Office of University Advancement (UA), the Prospect Research Coordinator will provide support to the Associate Director of Prospect Research by assisting with the coordination and execution of projects directly related to the identification and qualification of major gift prospects, as well as the completion of various research requests from frontline officers, UA leadership, and University leadership.
This position will also provide dedicated support to the Associate Director for due diligence research and will manage Research audits, seeking opportunities to create new processes through collaboration with team members and their daily tasks and needs.
These tasks include, but are not limited to: utilizing research tools and resources to update information and identify emerging leaders in various industries; ensure that prospects identified via proactive and other research projects have up-to-date records; organize research materials for leadership briefings in support of events and other campaign activities requiring research; assist with high-volume requests such as updated biographical and contact information, capacity rating analyses, and news alerts; and leverage reports in support of Research activities while also acting as a liaison between Prospect Research and Advancement Services as it relates to data, records, and requests for certain types of information from that area.

Duties and Responsibilities: Use departmental, University, and external resources, including online tools, to identify updates for constituent records and identify prospective donors and emerging industry leaders.
Monitor and disseminate various news alerts to the Frontline and Prospect Research teams in an accurate and timely manner.
Compile internal and external reports to assist with proactive research projects.
Assist in the vetting process that is a part of the University's policy on naming a University Asset.
Work closely with the UA Stewardship team to manage incoming requests and the distribution of results, while also monitoring project workflow.
Support the Prospect Research team with reactive research requests submitted by the Frontline team to help ensure information is provided to the officers in a timely manner, with a focus on record updates and rating analyses.
Monitor the department's daily gift report in an effort to identify new prospects and update records.
Manage data integrity audits involving contact information, employment, industry, giving, and biographical updates.
Ensure that prospects identified through large proactive projects have up-to-date records as they cycle into pipelines and portfolios.
Assist with record updates related to portfolio review meetings.
Act as a liaison between Prospect Research and Advancement Services, particularly as it relates to data, records, and Request For Information ( RFI ) form submissions.
Assist with the organization of research materials for leadership briefings in support of events and other campaign activities requiring research.
Stay current on research trends, as well as data management trends as they relate to prospect research, through conferences and other professional development opportunities.
Perform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned by Prospect Research, Prospect Development and/or Development Operations leadership.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred; a mix of post-secondary education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Entry level to two years of experience in an office or administrative setting.
A general understanding of Development industry standards in the area of prospect research, as well as University structure, policies and practices.
Some knowledge about Villanova's Augustinian community and mission.
Ability to understand and interpret information from a variety of news sources, including but not limited to financial, legal, corporate, and governmental sources.
The successful candidate must possess good planning and administrative skills, excellent verbal and writing skills, strong work ethic, demonstrated ability to work with others, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Ability to work under the pressure of time and frequent requests from multiple sources and to communicate results effectively.
Critical thinking and demonstrated comfort learning new technologies and systems required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with the integrated software suite, Banner, and Salesforce CRM is a plus.
Knowledge and understanding of Development industry system applications a plus.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours: Requires willingness to attend and provide staff support at select special events which occasionally take place during evenings and/or weekends.
