Job Summary

General Purpose:

Responsible to assist the Purchasing Management of Indirect materials in the organization, planning and management of the purchasing department in order to reach and maintain purchasing objectives, develop purchasing policy and procedures and to lead and mentor the team with regard to all purchasing activities to ensure value is achieved for monies expended, providing maximum value to the business.

Principle Accountabilities:

- Assist management to establish roles and responsibilities of purchasing goals

- Drive for Inventory Turn Over improvement per site targets

- Manage and optimize inventory at target levels

- Drive for 100 %supplier on time delivery

- Assist in sourcing of new supply bases for competitive pricing, quality and reliable products

- Supervise the team in the management of the supply chain to achieve continuous timely supply of parts and services

- Work closely with the team to ensure purchasing compliance to corporate directives

- Support corporate excess materials internal programs (as appropriate)

- Analyze, negotiate and manage both new and existing suppliers for lead-time, payment terms and cost reduction

- Deal with day-to-day operational issues with staff and act as escalation to unresolved HR issues to management

Education /Experience:

Finished degree or equivalent experience and extensive knowledge of purchasing policies and practices.

materials experience or experience in related field with advanced experience using Manufacturing Requirement Planning (MRP) systems or related systems.
