**About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the procurement of goods (direct and raw materials) and the direct purchasing of operations activities (i. e. turning, milling, grinding etc. ) required for the company's production.
Managing a team of 5 people, in a fast-paced Organization willing to change and grow according to the Company strategy.
His/her responsibilities include:
- Defines the requirements and quantity of the outsourced activity / product to be purchased, according to the needs of the production and sales departments;
- Coordinate the activity of Request for Quotations of outsourced activities with the suppliers, in order to give a target cost to the Quotation Department to make the Sales Offer;
- Manages the sourcing of machining operations/activities and products, taking advance from the market trends, Customer forecasts and strategic needs of the Company;
- Researches, selects and qualifies the most suitable suppliers based on the type of goods produced, the company's reliability and adherence to delivery times and technical competencies;
- Negotiates the price and contract terms with the supplier (often in conjunction with Quality and Sales departments) at a senior and strategic level;
- Interact with the Company Headquarters to discuss both direct and indirect purchasing trends and targets.
**What you need to be successful
- At least 6 years experience in a management position in the mechanical field;
- Strong experience in managing suppliers of mechanical processing (CNC machining) and components;
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate a team of resources;
- A change-oriented mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo and energize the team;
- Strongly preferable competence in SAP / SAP4HANA;
- A master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field will be considered a plus;
- Good understanding of the English language, both written and verbal;
- Full professional proficiency of Office Suite;
- Willingness to travel (20/30% of the time - when needed).
