Quality Assurance Internship
Overview:
In general, role is responsible for assisting the quality manager on the establishment and maintaining of the food safety and quality management system; and the planning and implementing the improvement of manufacturing processes with the end result of producing a better-quality product more efficiently and ensure compliance to food safety and quality requirement, quality plan implementation, respond to customer complaints, perform internal and supplier audits, and/or write procedures as required.
**Responsibilities**:
- Support in the development, maintaining documentation and improvement of the overall Food Safety and Quality Management System through SOP development, internal audit and corrective and preventive actions programs (including FSSC 22000 certification).
- Conduct/Assist in internal audits and customer audits
- Assisting is non-conformity and customer complaint investigation and resolution.
- Document and follow up of corrective and preventive actions
- Responding to quality related questions and questionnaires from customers
- Assist in the supplier/ raw materials approval, process and product improvements
- Keep all RMRA documents up to date in the proper systems
- Manage raw material risk assessment, by sending out analysis and following up.
- Coordinating internal and external analysis requests compliant with quality plans on raw materials including those by external labs.
- Conduct and/ or coordinate samples analysis to support supplier qualification, process/ product improvement.
- Assist during Kosher and Halal audits if needed
- Responsible for Product information packages
- Set up Quality control plans of finished goods
- Responsible for properly respond to all customer inquiries, whether by disseminating to other team members or personally responding
- Review batch records. Produce COA if needed
- Investigate and resolve customer complaints
- Responsible for root cause investigations, with supervision.
- Responsible for coordinating and reviewing SOPs, methods and forms.
- Analyze data of raw material and finished goods
- Must attend Food Safety and QA training to support business needs.
- Must be able to use ERP system(s) and LIMs system
- Follows and maintains an environment of food safety in compliance with rules and regulations, as applicable.
- Certify and perform internal audits
- Act as a member of Food Safety Team, as applicable.
Qualifications:
- Experience with and/or skills related to Food Safety/Quality Management Systems (ISO, FSSC, HACCP, etc. ) preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills needed.
- Self-motivated and driven to independently accomplish department goals and objectives
- Must have excellent time management and organization skills, a high energy level, and a passion for quality.
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities; ability to meet challenging timelines; strong prioritization skills.
- Ability to think strategically and tactically, balancing these as workload changes.
- Must interact well with others in a team environment. Ability to communicate the need to balance quality issues with production schedule needs to operations personnel.
- Excellent attention to detail, and strong professional writing skills needed.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English
- Some moderate lifting of chemicals, boxes and bags of product and standing for long periods of time may be required.
- Bachelor's degree with science experience
- Interact in professional manner with a wide variety of individuals at all levels (e. g. R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Customer Service, Customer Lab Services, Operations, and Marketing).
