In order to implement the Digital Solution Unit and reporting into the Head of Metering, we are looking for a Quality Assurance Lead. Your new role As a Quality Assurance Lead in the Metering Infrastructure domain, you will be responsible for all activities related to: Test Strategy & Planning: Develop comprehensive test strategies, covering both functional (integration, system) and non-functional (performance, security, reliability) testing; Plan testing activities for all components of AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), including smart meters (Meter & More, DLMS/COSEM), head-end systems (HES), meter data management systems (MDMS), and communication network (RF, PLC, cellular); Ensure test strategies are aligned with regulatory standards and operational requirements specific to the utility industry. Functional & Non-Functional Testing: Lead functional testing efforts, validating the integration of smart meters with utility back-office systems such as MDMS and customer information systems (CIS); Oversee non-functional testing, such as performance testing, security testing, reliability testing; Ensure testing includes real-world conditions and edge cases, such as peak load scenarios, network outages, and meter firmware upgrades. Test Execution & Reporting: Coordinate test execution across different environments (e. g. , lab, field, quality) and manage defect identification, tracking, and resolution; Monitor testing progress, providing timely reports on the status of testing activities, defects, and risks to project stakeholders; Ensure that all test artifacts (test plans, test cases, results) are well-documented and meet compliance and audit requirements. Leadership & Team Management: Lead a team of test engineers and manage external testing partners, ensuring the delivery of high-quality testing results; Allocate resources efficiently, balancing the testing workload across multiple projects; Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including utility operations, development, and network teams, to ensure alignment on testing goals and integration of systems. Process Improvement & Best Practices: Continuously improve test processes, incorporating industry best practices and testing methodologies; Advocate for the use of test automation tools where appropriate to improve efficiency in regression and performance testing; Stay informed about advancements in technologies, testing tools, and regulatory changes to ensure testing remains up-to-date and effective. What you need to succeed Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related field with: Minimum of 13 years of experience in software testing and quality assurance, with at least 8 years in AMI or utility testing; Expertise in AMI systems (smart meters, MDMS, HES, communication networks); Functional testing experience in areas such as data collection, meter provisioning, remote connect/disconnect, data concentrator management and time-of-use billing; Non-functional testing skills, including performance (large-scale meter data handling: more than 1 million meters), security, and reliability; Knowledge of communication protocols used in AMI (e. g. , DLMS/COSEM, Meter & More, G3 Hybrid); Familiarity with industry-specific standards and regulations (e. g. , IEEE and ANSI); Experience with test management tools (e. g. , Jira, SonarQube) and test automation frameworks; Knowledge of project management frameworks (e. g. , Agile, Waterfall); Proficient in English.
