Quality Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to assist the local unit in developing the necessary capabilities to effectively control products and systems.
Each day, you will ensure compliance with internal, customer, and industry requirements within a cost-effective and safe working environment.
You will also showcase your expertise by participating in the development and implementation of standards and test methods to ensure only compliant products, software, and services are released to the customer.
The work model for the role is: #LI-onsite.
This role is contributing to the Electrification Services division in North America.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Creating quality inspection plans and conducting quality inspections, as assigned, to ensure products meet specified requirements and customer expectations in manufacturing and final inspection quality. Reviewing contracts from customers to ensure we meet the quality requirements before accepting orders.
Issuing certificates of conformance as applicable. Coordinating Factory Acceptance Testing (F. A. T) or ITP as applicable. Supporting quality control needs and activities for supplier quality, production quality, testing and validation, and engineering, as applicable. Reporting quality issues data and metrics and escalating any product quality or safety non-conformance cases to the Quality Manager. Working in close collaboration with production, engineering, or any other department needed to resolve quality product problems and ensuring they are fully addressed by following robust root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions. Qualifications for the role Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or similar, with at least 4 years of experience in a Quality department working as a Quality Assurance Engineer; or alternatively a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments in Quality. Strong knowledge in Quality Control tools and Problem Solving methodologies. Lead auditor certified is desirable or at least Internal Auditor certified ISO 9001:2015. Knowledge in 10CFRPart 50 Appendix B is desirable. This role does not include relocation. Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
