Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician with a high standard for accuracy to inspect returns from the market and verify that our products meet predefined requirements and specific standards of quality, promoting customer satisfaction and trust in our brand.
The candidate should be able to work independently and make decisions based on their findings.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively are also important.
The Quality Control Technician will perform regular inspections and tests on products and materials, checking for defects and deviations from specifications.
The role involves working closely with multiple internal functions (Production, Engineering, Sales, and Promoters), providing feedback on quality issues and suggesting improvements to manufacturing processes to enhance product quality.
In the event of a product quality issue, the QC Technician is often tasked with identifying the root cause of the problem and proposing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
Duties and Responsibilities: Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met, identifying product defects, and recording findings in internal reports detailing their results. Working closely with the production team to ensure consistent quality in all products and processes. Reading and interpreting technical drawings, verifying quality standards and procedures. Identifying and troubleshooting problems with products or processes, recommending modifications in products/processes/quality standards where necessary. Measuring product dimensions using different tools, examining functionality, and comparing the final product to the specifications. Documenting inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records. Teaching the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence. Resolving quality-related issues in a timely manner, with attention to quality and costs. Qualifications: High technical school diploma; further qualifications will be a plus. Proven experience of at least 2 years in a manufacturing company (preferably as a quality control technician or a similar role, ideally with familiarity with quality testing methods and knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards). Excellent understanding of manufacturing methods and procedures. Good mathematical abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods. Working knowledge of MS Office and data analysis/statistical methods. Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies, or certification (ISO9001, etc. )
is a strong advantage. Continuing education, certifications, and staying up-to-date with industry changes and advancements in technology can also contribute to a Quality Control Technician's experience and qualifications. A good proficiency in English is strongly appreciated. Key Competencies: Technical knowledge to understand technical drawings, product specifications, and recognize deviations from desired quality. Attention to detail to closely inspect products, identifying any defects or deviations from the established quality standards. Analytical skills to interpret complex data from the quality testing process and make recommendations for improvement. Problem-solving skills to find the root cause of quality issues and determine effective solutions. Communication skills to effectively liaise with production teams, report findings, and explain necessary changes in procedures or processes. Knowledge of quality assurance standards and regulations to ensure compliance is appreciated, but an excellent willingness to learn is equally valued. Proficiency in using quality control software for logging issues, tracking defects, and generating reports is an advantage.
