Rack Decommissioning Data Technician
Successfully completed work-based learning program
- High school or equivalent diploma
- STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education
- Are 18 years of age or older
- Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required
- Work 10 hour shifts as needed
Are you a technical professional interested in joining an elite team and learning the skills necessary to maintain one of the world's largest information system infrastructures? We are currently expanding our infrastructure team and are looking for Rack Decommissioning Data Technician.
As part of the Rack Decom team, you will be responsible for processing and facilitating legacy Data Center equipment through a liquidation process to ensure that targeted equipment is ready to be removed off premises. You will also process large volumes of customer data to ensure that all customer data is sanitized and properly managed.
You will develop familiarity with basic PC components/hardware (HDD/SSD/Flash/Removable storage media/Ram/CPU/Motherboard/Input-Output devices)
You will be working in a team environment not only with other members of the team but also from other teams and must be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality.

Key job responsibilities
**Safety**:
- Follow and maintain the highest safety standards and diligently encourage a world-class safety culture. Own the safety initiatives and projects to foster a strong safety culture.
**Rack Decom Operations**:
- Decommissioning and processing of legacy hardware out of the data center facilities
- Hard drive installation, removal, and destruction
- Troubleshooting events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Basic Networking equipment removal/installation and clearing of configurations.
- Interact with third party vendors & contractors
- Manual handling and lifting of equipment (weight limits in accordance with regulations)
