Raw Materials Commodity Buyer
We are looking for a Raw Material Commodity Buyer to join our team in Milan.
This position is responsible for:
- Strategically managing the purchase of some commodities in the Raw Materials for Prysmian in South Europe Region (France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Tunisia).
- The position is in charge for optimizing the supply base, its lowest total delivered cost (savings) and for ensuring continuous supply to the workshops and all other internal stakeholders (find alternative solutions if needed, so working with RD to homologate new supplier overall where we are in single source in order to reduce the risk of non-deliveries).
- Various products: EPDM, EVA, CB, CLAYS. . .
- Among the responsibilities, we find the update and analysis of suppliers and supply base including prices, stocks, OTD, coverages, Non conformities, etc, the management of the claims, update of the prices in the system, provide information about the status of the categories (reports)
Your Skills:
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong analytical skills and proficient with Excel and SAP
- Fact based negotiation skills
- Project management
- Initiative and flexibility to accept, assume and adapt to multiple demands and priorities in a lean organization
- Hard worker
- Proactive, willing to change and improve the things
Your experience and background:
- Degree: (Engineer with a specialization in Purchasing or Business School),
- Demonstrated ability in negotiations and relationship management with suppliers in similar experiences
- Minimum 5 -10 years in a similar experience
- Practice of SAP
- Language: Mainly English and French, Spanish would be a plus
- Having a background in mechanical components would be a plus
- Able to read a technical drawing
