This position reports to R&D Team Lead

Your role and responsibilities We are looking for an R&D Design Engineer to join our Research and Development - Special Circuit Breaker Team based in Dalmine (IT), developing mechanical and electrical design for Medium Voltage circuit breakers.

The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid.

This role contributes to the Distribution Solutions Division within the Electrification Business Area in Dalmine.

You will be mainly accountable for:

Realizing the mechanical/electrical design and all technical details of the circuit breaker, developing 3D/2D parts integrating all the required accessories including actuation parts.

Design optimization by identifying architectural solutions, exploiting the highest integration with the rest of the product (mechanical part, control, and sensors).

Following prototype development, implementing executive drawings, and all project documentation (from pre-feasibility studies to detailed design documents).

Carrying out preliminary tests for design pre-validation, analyzing the quality and reliability of the product, prototype debug, and integration with the switchgear and the control system feature, working closely in a strongly multidisciplinary team.

Drawing up the technical documentation required for production of the Circuit Breaker and carrying out activities to support and maintain the products when requested.

Working closely with other colleagues and functions proactively and motivated.

Qualifications for the role Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar.

At least 2 years of experience in design, 3D/2D drawings of industrial applications.

Experience using SolidWorks.

Interest in prototype assembly, integration, and tests to develop functionality and performance.

Experience creating technical dossiers, documents, and management of versioning for full tracking of the Circuit Breaker BOM and its industrialization.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and tolerance chains is a plus, as well as awareness of MV tests and standards to comply.

Fluency in Italian and English, both written and spoken.

Proactivity and communication skills, with the ability to create innovation, negotiation, and networking skills.
