Your role and responsibilitiesIn this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to ABB's success with technology, software, product, and system development. Each day, you will identify and implement innovative solutions to relevant problems. You will also showcase your expertise by providing ideas and working both independently and as a part of a Research & Development (R&D) team, developing and integrating embedded electronics for advanced Medium Voltage circuit in our Electrification business.

This role is contributing to the R&D – Circuit Breaker Team for Electrification Business in Dalmine (BG).

You will be mainly accountable for:

Realizing/contributing to the HW design of architecture and technical details, circuit simulation and the development of electronic projects that primarily require knowledge of analog, power supply, and power electronics. Taking care of design optimization by identifying technical, architectural, and circuitry solutions, exploiting the highest integration with the rest of the product (mechanical parts, control, and sensors). Running prototype development, implementing executive drawings and all-project documentation (from pre-feasibility studies to detailed design documents), carrying out preliminary tests for design pre-validation, analyzing the quality and reliability of the product, and debugging prototypes and integrating with control FW. Drawing up the technical documentation required for production of the electronic product and carrying out activities to support and maintain the products when requested. Working closely with other functions and suppliers, coordinating external partners for hardware-related services as necessary. Qualifications for the roleMaster Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent. You have 1-5 years of experience in Embedded HW design in industrial applications. Trained in the use of laboratory instruments to take care of the study, debug, integration, and test of prototypes. Experience in power supply design, signal integrity, analog signal conditioning/filter stages. Experience with EMI design and troubleshooting. You have knowledge of oscilloscopes, function generators, and other test equipment. Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes is a plus. You are familiar with electronic board re-working. You are passionate about creating innovation, with strong negotiation and networking skills. You have a positive spirit, proactivity, adaptability to teamwork, quickness, problem-solving orientation, and commitment. You are at ease communicating both in Italian and English.
