Working with us means working with the latest technologies and groundbreaking, sustainable innovations. Join us on our journey for a better tomorrow. Here in our Product Company, we are looking for a R&D Mechanical Engineer willing to take part in the New Project Development of Piston Compressors machines. Why do we need a new Mechanical Engineer? Our aim is to bring new products to the Compressors market with the goal of further improving energy efficiency, performance, and environmental care. Are you struggling for a job with a lot of variety? Would you like to be the one making recommendations for changes in the organization? For sure you will be proud of your results at the end of the day What does an R&D Mechanical Engineer look like? As a Mechanical Engineer, you will make drawings, calculations, and tests starting from single components up to the full machine. You will work with the project team to bring new applied technology from concept to product. After the concept is frozen, the design falls to theoretical validation, moving forward into the prototypes testing phase. The output of the Function phase gives the kickoff for industrialization; the next step is to ensure that the flow of the remaining steps runs smoothly without interruptions or delays. Our Mechanical Engineer's goal is to focus on the features that customers are willing to pay for (Value) as well as to reduce the ones that do not add value to the end customer (Waste). If you join us in this role, you will initiate new projects and follow up existing ones, reporting to the R&D Engineering Team Leader and cooperating with the Project Leader and Test Engineer to create an efficient and effective R&D organization. What we expect from you? You have a Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, with at least 3-5 years of relevant experience in design and process manufacturing, and demonstrated skill and achievement in implementing engineering practices in an industrial design environment. Preferably, you have achieved good experience in CAD design, basic parts calculation, and BOM management in your experience. You have an eye for details and don't shy away from rolling up your sleeves and getting involved whenever necessary. We seek a self-motivated person, able to work in a multidisciplinary team. You are full of energy and can't wait to work together with the Project Team to bring your technical solutions and new ideas to solve the technical challenges of Product development. What else? We need you to be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, experienced with Inventor or similar CAD, and have a good knowledge of English. What will be crucial to develop in this role? Knowing how to improve business results, driving change and making things happen. Capability to display consistency between words and actions, act honestly and directly with people, raising flags when things go wrong to ensure appropriate action is taken. Ability to drive customer success and demonstrate a genuine interest in accurately understanding and acting on customer needs and expectations. Passion for sustainability, being an example in following policies and practices as well as honoring agreements and commitments. What you will deal with in this role? Estimate design times, define concepts and transform them into drawings. Define machine layouts and draw mechanical parts according to best engineering practice rules. Create, update, and follow up assembly 3D models, then prototypes and finally BOM. Train and support project leaders, test engineers, and team members. Prepare and maintain drawings, calculation files, and bills of material in accordance with regulations and company procedures. Work with the production team to identify and implement process improvements and best practices through 5S and lean principles. Represent an important link between concept and final product, playing a key role in new product introduction projects and acting as an engineering representative in PTMs (Project Team Meetings). What you can expect from us? You will for sure learn a lot and develop yourself further, as well as be involved in strategic decisions contributing to the new generation of piston compressor design excellence. It will be a challenging experience where you can put your ideas and energy into optimizing the engineering setup of our PC. Where we expect you? You will join Abac Aria Compressa Product Company in Italy, based in Robassomero, Turin Area. PAD, Professional Air Division, is responsible for the piston compressor technology and the professional market for the Atlas Copco group and has 5 operational entities: Turin, Germany, Brazil, China, and USA.
