R&D Mechanical Engineer For Power Transformers

As R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will join our Technology Center in Italy- Monselice, an organization leading continuous research and development activities on transformers. As part of our R&D Technology Center, you will contribute to the development of projects related to the mechanical performance of power transformers.
As a member of a highly skilled Technology Center, part of the global Hitachi Energy R&D community, you will run projects and contribute to the successful project's roadmap execution.
How you'll make an impact Propose and develop new technologies, products, and processes for power transformers. Lead and manage R&D projects self-driven on time, on budget, and on quality following internal standards and processes. Maintain existing and develop new technical standards and design tools for transformers. Transfer your knowledge and findings by elaborating reports, specifications and/or participating in educational programs. Assess production processes and proactively identify gaps and areas of improvement. Support factories troubleshooting in your domain of expertise. Develop, manage and expand relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, Corporate Research Centers and external relevant parties (e. g. , customers, universities). Providing proposals for possible partnerships. Your background Master's degree in mechanical engineering. More than 5 years of experience, preferably in the transformers business, either in R&D projects, power transformers mechanical design, or university research. Experience with project management activities. Experience with advanced numerical simulations (e. g. , mechanical simulations and fluid dynamic simulations), proficiency in the use of commercial simulation tools (e. g. , Ansys, Comsol, Catia) and implementation of own solutions. Professional knowledge in 3D CAD modeling software PTC CREO (or alternatively other 3D software like CATIA, SolidWorks, or SolidEdge) and PDM/PLM software (WindChill or equivalent). A good knowledge of CREO Rules Engine tool, Python, or other programming languages will be considered a plus. Knowledge in ACT and APDL programming in Ansys shall be well valued. Professional computer skills including SAP, Microsoft Office & MS Project, Outlook. Excellent abilities in teamwork in international teams with excellent interpersonal skills. Experimental stress analysis & structural testing knowledge will be valued. Spirit of innovation, out-of-the-box thinking with a high level of self-motivation.
