Commitment & contract: fixed term contract until December 2026 Location: Genoa Morego, Italy Role: Technician ABOUT US: The Rehab Technologies Research Line focuses on developing innovative, high-tech robotic solutions for patients with physical impairments. The ideal candidate will engage in a broad spectrum of activities related to software development for rehabilitative devices. These tasks include, but are not limited to, designing control strategies, developing software architectures, implementing communication protocols, creating firmware for embedded systems, developing graphical user interfaces (GUIs), and advancing clinical measurement methodologies. All software development will adhere to the IEC 62304 standard to ensure safety and efficacy, enabling device testing with patients in collaboration with our actively engaged clinical partners. REQUIREMENTS: Within the team, you'll collaborate across disciplines (mechanical, electronics, clinical) to ensure seamless software and hardware integration. The ideal candidate should have: An excellent Master's Degree in Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or Computer Science. From entry-level up to 3 years of proven extensive programming experience. Proven development experience using C and/or C++ programming languages. Strong background in robotics and controls. Good knowledge of common coding practices and paradigms. Proactive attitude and results-oriented mindset. A good knowledge of English or the ability to attain this is desirable. Good interpersonal and communications skills and willingness to integrate into an international research team. What Will Put You Ahead? PhD in Robotics, Mechatronics, Control, or related fields. Good knowledge of the Linux environment. Previous experience or projects in embedded programming. Development of real-time control systems.
