**Job Summary**:

The Software Platform Development team within Packaging Line Embedded Automation organisation is now looking for a Specialist in Real-time Control and Communication.

The Packaging Line Embedded Automation organisation is responsible to deliver competitive and scalable SW architecture, libraries and tools for packaging line equipment.

The corresponding software libraries are embedded into our packaging line equipment and serves as a foundation for our digitalisation effort.

To maintain our position as world leader in the food & beverage industry, we now see the need to extend our development team.

To be successful in this position, you truly enjoy tuning CPU performance as well as optimising network topology and communication traffic.

We are looking for a person with a structured and analytical mindset as well as a strong personal drive and a very high interest in technical solutions.

This position is base in Modena - Italy

**What you will do**:

- Real-time optimisation of PLC/IPC CPUs, e. g.

settings for tasks and cores.

- Optimisation of industrial network, e. g defining topology and settings of switches and firewalls.

- Provide guidelines for new designs.

- Monitor and troubleshoot potential real-time issue.

- In collaboration with our product development organisations, participate in the development of control solutions embedded in Tetra Pak packaging equipment.

**We believe you have**:

- University Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or similar knowledge.

- Extensive experience of PLC/IPC CPU functionality, fieldbuses, and network topology as well as how to monitor and optimise performance.

- Experience of Beckhoff TwinCAT, EtherCAT, ADS and TCP/IP as well as the most commonly used fieldbuses such as EtherNet/IP, DeviceNet and IO-Link.

- Experience of network monitoring and analysis tools such Wireshark and ADSMonitor, as well as configuration of routers and switches

- It is required that you have excellent English skills both verbally.
