Recreation Assistant (Outdoor) Nf-02
Duties**:
- Works under general supervision of the Outdoor Recreation Manager or Recreation Specialist as a Recreation Assistant
- Instructing groups and individuals in a variety of outdoor recreation programs, such as but not limited to rafting, rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, etc. , using a variety of teaching methods to effectively communicate to participants
- Teaches children as well as adults.
- Incumbent is responsible for group management. The safety of the participants must always be the number one priority.
- Must be familiar with all programs offered by Outdoor Recreation, as well as be familiar with local area as the position requires providing information to customers.

- If water rafting is part of the duties, satisfactory completion of required Raft Guide Training must be completed within three weeks of appointment. Failure to successfully complete required training may result in separation.
**Qualifications**:
- Must have knowledge of and experience in a wide variety of Outdoor Recreation pursuits. Applicants pursuing a degree in Recreation Management, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field, and in the process of completing an internship or fieldwork program will be considered highly qualified. **Qualifying experience must be clearly described in resume. Failure to clearly describe qualifying experience in resume, may result in an ineligible rating or may affect the overall rating.

**PCS Costs
- Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
**Pay-Band (NF or CY) Allowances and Differential**s
- This is a pay-banded position.
- Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. **_If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay. _** When authorized, Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday). Sunday premium will be paid at the rate of 25% of the basic rate for all hours of non-overtime, when any part of the scheduled tour of duty is performed on Sunday (to a maximum of 8 hours per Sunday).
- Night differential may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. When authorized, night differential will be paid at the rate of 10% basic rate for hours of non-overtime work performed between 1800-0600.
**Incentives and Bonuses
- Incentives will not be paid.

- Foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
