Regional Energy Manager
Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide.
Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.
**_ We are seeking a Regional Energy Manager to join our team in Naples, Italy.
This role requires 70% travel to support the operational objectives of Naval Facilities Engineering Systems installations in Djibouti, Bahrain, Spain, Crete, Romania, and Poland. _
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and implement a robust energy management program in compliance with energy laws, regulations, policies, and directives.
- Provide design review comments and assist in the implementation of energy-related projects for facility maintenance, repair, and construction.
- Support project and program management related to energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
- Identify energy-saving projects, coordinate construction, and oversee implementation.
- Promote and educate stakeholders on energy and water conservation efforts, optimizing the use of natural gas, electricity, solar, geothermal, water, wastewater, wind, and other utilities.
- Assist with the development of energy and water plans, including the Installation Energy Programs Summary (IEPS) and initiatives focused on energy security, resilience, and sustainability.
- Conduct facility audits (EISA 2007 compliance) and assess the feasibility, development, analysis, and verification of energy and water projects.
- Facilitate alternative financing projects and implement demand-side cost reduction strategies.
- Support Operations & Maintenance (O&M) efficiency enhancements and the adoption of new technologies, including renewable energy sources and microgrids.
- Develop and sustain a comprehensive Energy Awareness Program.
- Monitor and analyze water, electricity, natural gas, and fossil fuel consumption using meter data.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required.
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Energy Manager within the Department of Defense (DoD) or similar government facilities.
- Strong understanding of energy resilience, reliability, and efficiency principles applicable to facilities and major energy projects.
- Ability to analyze technical engineering drawings, specifications, statements of work, and contract documents related to energy projects.
- Experience in monitoring energy consumption, auditing facilities, and developing reports while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Preferred: Training and knowledge of IEPs, DUERs, NSGEMs, or other Navy energy platforms.
- Ability to perform moderate physical activity in both indoor and outdoor environments, including active construction sites.
