Regional Research Manager - Southern Europe
Job Description Summary**: The Regional Research Manager - Southern Europe is responsible for defining strategy and overseeing the execution of research partnerships in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Israel, and the Middle East. This individual provides the interface between business segment, region leaders, and strategic collaborative academic partners to establish comprehensive research programs with key opinion leaders. Critical responsibilities include profiling and introducing new strategic research partnerships, defining and governing collaborations, ensuring that site and investigator-specific research needs are met, and assuring studies are conducted in a timely, satisfactory, and compliant manner so as to provide high-impact research deliverables to the business.

- Seek out research collaborators well-suited for GE partnership. Understand their strengths and collaboration interests. Work with collaborators and product teams to solicit investigator-initiated research proposals that are well-aligned with GE research needs.
- Develop and maintain research relationships with key academic research partners. Create a positive and thriving research experience. Nurture existing relationships. Identify and develop new relationships.
- Establish governance and operating mechanisms with modalities and researchers to resolve issues, track achievements and deliverable impacts, and oversee payments or study logistics, where necessary.
- Coordinate any research responses required as part of commercial inquiries, at arm's length from the commercial sales or marketing engagement.
- Act as primary Research Manager for GEHC cross-modality projects, or to ensure modality ownership and follow-through of modality-specific projects.
- Identify and evaluate external funding opportunities for eventual GE Healthcare participation. Assist internal and external teams during related project development and execution phases.
- Be a source of external intelligence into GE Healthcare modalities, articulating academic institution's research vision and initiatives. Assist GE in understanding the changing focus, needs, and expectations of key research partners and the region.
- Ensure commercial team is kept informed of site research activity, through communications, op mechs, or appropriate methods - in accordance with compliance measures outlined in the Research/Commercial separation policy.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Technical, Business or clinical degree with industry experience in Product Development, Field Services, Operations or related area. Equivalent customer-facing leadership experience may be appropriate.
- Clinical Domain expertise in Oncology or Interventional Radiology with specific product and technical knowledge of imaging systems (MR preferred) and diagnostic medical devices.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and across professional and executive levels of an organization; ability to influence and coordinate resources in support of program objectives
- Solid understanding of the GE Healthcare organization, including experience in imaging, diagnostics and software-related areas, or other similar diagnostic medical device business.
- Project management experience within an engineering or research environment; demonstrated execution at meeting project goals while satisfying quality, performance, schedule, and budget CTQ's
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated excellence in customer support, responsiveness and engagement
- Collaborative mindset and demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally in a matrix environment and in a remote office.
- Demonstrated clear thinking & problem-solving abilities: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations function involving process improvement; able to quickly grasp new ideas
**Desired Characteristics**:
- Deep clinical and product development expertise
- Advanced technical degree (M. S. , Ph. D. , M. D. ) or business degree (MBA)
- Experience working in multiple disciplines or businesses in GEHC.
- More than 10 years accumulated experience in product development, R&D role or a clinical research role in GEHC.
