**The Job's Mission
Based in the Northern Italy Region, this role will report directly into the Business Unit Manager OI & ST - Northern Europe.
The Regional Sales Manager OI & ST will define ways to create value and deliver on our mission and strategy; will focus on creating more effective and sustainable ways to achieve our goals; will inspire others by setting the example that others want to follow while modelling our company values; will grow our talent and will passionately drive financial performance and growth.

**Key Activities & Accountabilities
**Delivers Financial Results in his region
- Passionately drives and achieves or exeeds results with regards to Sales Growth and Profitability.
- Meets margin expectations by implementing an appropriate pricing policy to get sales in line with "Sales Revenue Target" as well as meet margin expectation as defined in the annual budget.
- Maximises operating income as a % + value of sales.
- Documents Stryker and competitive market penetration throughout region at an account level for all categories within their responsibility.
- Holds self and others accountable for achieving results.
- Responsible for inter-departmental compliance with company policies and corrective actions.
- Meets with key customers and conducts price negotiations and contractual preparation within the limits of in-house guidelines, up to contract conclusion for key customers
**Sets direction & Inspires the team
- Develops and executes in partnership with the Business Unit Manager a short and long Term Growth Strategy to maximise sales opportunities in the region that is aligned with Instruments Europe Strategies
- Inspires their team (direct and indirect channels) to define new opportunities and develop tactical plans to achieve greater market share/penetration.
- Sets overall regional goals and territory quotas and evaluates their performance against these.
- Develops and executes impactful and coordinated actions aimed at higher customer engagement.
- Ensures accurate sales forecasts each month.
- Coordinates and distributes funds out of a regional budget
**Passionately drives a strong Talent & Performance Culture
- Actively identifies and attracts top level sales talent
- Onboards, coaches and develops sales personnel in the region with regards to, amongst others, selling skills, territory management skills and selling Stryker products.
- Sets clear expectations, evaluates performance and takes corrective action where appropriate
- Assess talents and works closely with HR to continuously enhance the productivity and effectiveness of the business unit with respect to people, development, retention, succession planning and employee engagement.
**Builds organizational capabilities
- Analyses regional market potential and effectively creates sales territories in order to facilitate company growth.
- Helps remove barriers to execution in order to deliver a simple customer experience.
- Leverages the marketing organisation to keep the sales force informed of new information pertaining to the market and ensuring the execution of new product launches
- Identifies new and more effective ways to accomplish goals
- Engages KOLs in the sales process
- Partners with other RSMs and Commercial Services to set up cross-divisional deals.
- Develops and executes impactful and coordinated actions aimed at higher customer engagement.
**Requirements**:
- BSc Life sciences, pharmaceutical or business degree desirable
- Fluent in Italian and English
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience, ideally as Sales Leader, for a medical device business with proven career progression
- Experience in leading complex commercial negotiations of capital equipment with hospitals is strongly preferred
- Experience working with (ideally managing) indirect channels
- Proven track record of delivering market share growth and financial results over an extended period.
- Demonstrated success in building, engaging and developing strong sales teams is strongly preferred.
- Acumen in setting sales and leveraging territory coverage and customer focus
- Experience in executing targeted marketing and sales programs to win business off the competition and take market share.
- Demonstrated solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint) and other IT systems (Power BI, CRMs, )
Based location: Ideally Milan or any other well-connected city
