The Regional (Area) TA Lead, Western Europe & Canada, for Biomarker Strategy, reports to the Area TA Head Oncology, Western Europe & Canada and will co-develop and lead implementation of the strategy for Medical Affairs across the Oncology portfolio.

**Major Responsibilities

- The Area Biomarker Lead, WEC will work with the relevant GMA Functions (Biomarker and CDx Associate Director, GMA leads for the relevant Hemato-Oncology TAs) to carry out the following responsibilities:

- Inform and support the definition of the Medical Launch Readiness activities

- Implement the Biomarker Playbook in the WE&C Affiliates

- Keep abreast of technical, scientific, and medical information through attendance of selected Scientific Congresses, literature and other sources of relevant information and acts as a therapeutic area expert in biomarkers and companion diagnostics.

Promptly alert the WE&C Area teams, GMA and Affiliates counterparts on the new and most critical information

- Establish and maintain a scientific network with the Key Experts in WE&C, working interactively with External TA Experts, Scientists, Pathologists to identify relevant questions and topics to be addressed with Key Medical Activities (Evidence Generation, Education, etc.

)

- Develop and coordinate the overarching Biomarker strategy across the Oncology portfolio in WE&C, in strong partnership with the cross-functional Area Brand Team

- Act as the Single Point of Contact for WE&C medical teams for clinical data and key strategic priorities for the implementation of the biomarker Strategy for on-market as well as mid

- to late-stage products and indications

- Understand regulatory and OEC requirements and work with high ethics and compliance standards

- Understand deeply the patient and treatment journey

- Provide leadership, oversight and support for assigned initiatives with a clear plan and drive execution of the right tactics to completion on time (in cooperation with cross-functional and in-function colleagues)

- Ensure the biomarker-related part of the scientific narrative is sound and consistently communicated in internal and external forums and educational initiatives

- Act (when needed) as medical/scientific leader for projects within an Area or across several areas

- Assist (when needed) in the development of scientifically accurate medical education programs, advisories, and symposia and promotional materials

**Qualifications

Education**:

- Advanced education (e. g.

M. D. , Ph. D. , PharmD. , PA, NP)

**Experience**:

- 5+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or diagnostic industry with professional responsibility driving completion of strategic initiatives and tactical plans with a collaborative approach

- Residence and/ or postdoc or longstanding industry experience in Oncology is highly preferred

**Skills/knowledge**:

- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams to achieve strategic business goals

- Strong networking skills and demonstrated experience in working in complex matrix environment

- Strong understanding of Medical Affairs and Oncology with recent pharmaceutical industry experience in the field

- Experience with CDx development and Immuno-Oncology is desired

- Highly organized and demonstrated passion for driving to achieve objectives and goals

- Fluency in English is required, second major language spoken is considered a plus.
