Regional Victim Advocate/Trainer
Regional Victim Advocate/Trainer - Duties commensurate with VA position to include oversight and coordination of work and maintenance of workload for VAs, i. e.
time sheets, reports, customer service evaluations and providing back-up to installations to ensure service delivery.
Provide training within 30 days of approved training schedule/materials.
Training must be approved by the region FAP manager Duties and Responsibilities Communicate understanding, sensitivity, and empathy for victims and non-abusing parent/guardian when handling victim cases.
Effectively communicate with victims, develop trusting helping relationships.
Work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Intervene in crisis situations exercising careful judgement, applying flexibility and innovative problem solving, and taking appropriate precautions to protect the welfare of those to whom they provide services under the guiding principle of "do no harm. "
Work independently to assess risk, develop, implement, and evaluate safety and intervention plans to meet victim needs.
Conduct briefings to small and large groups of civilians, Soldiers, and Commanders.
Work cooperatively with Army Community Services and Family Advocacy Program staff, military, and civilian medical, social service, law enforcement, and legal personnel on behalf of victims.
Provide domestic abuse training to soldiers, civilians and family members after Government approval of training materials and training schedule.
Implement approved training schedules for OCONUS garrisons and operational areas.
Maintain an updated and comprehensive file of Army, civilian and military resources for victims of domestic abuse, intimate partner violence and PSB-CY specific to each location.
Develop information packets or similar resources in English and Spanish to assist and empower victims.
Conduct "Brown Bag Lunches" for the community at large.
These training sessions shall focus on domestic abuse preventive measures and provide information on domestic abuse services and resources available to qualified personnel.
Customize training materials as necessary to adapt each training event to the audience, time limitations, and purpose of the training, ensuring training is consistent with current practices, Army's values, latest policies, laws, and regulations.
Implement and facilitate initial EPC training for EPC providers in accordance with AR 608-18 and the EPC Resource Guide in coordination with Child and Youth Service (CYS).

Required Education/Experience Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, marriage, family and child counseling, counseling or behavioral science, education, community health or public health.
Must have a minimum of two years' experience providing comprehensive assistance and support to victims of domestic abuse.
Must have a minimum of two years' experience in working with a military or civilian social service agency serving military families.
VAs will be certified by the National Advocate Credentialing Program at the time of hire or within one year of hire.
Minimum Required Skills and Abilities Knowledge of military personnel automation systems and PC and possess good analytical skills, time management, and be an independent thinker.
Prior military experience or experience with military programs.
Must be familiar with U. S. Army rank structure and military culture.
Ability to effectively communicate and interact with others, both in person and/or by telephone to conduct business.
Travel will be required as needed.
Experience with Microsoft Suite programs.
You must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must be able to pass a background check.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
Must have strong listening skills and strong organizational skills.
Must possess a current and valid driver's license.
