Position Summary: A Registered Nurse who provides individualized care to patients requiring angiographic diagnostic evaluation and possible intervention. Emphasis is placed on assessment of healthcare needs, implementation of therapeutic treatment and anticipation, recognition and, if necessary, intervention of adverse effects of procedures/medical condition to assure positive patient outcome. In addition, the angiosuite registered nurse provides patient/family education to promote optimal healthcare status upon discharge. This position performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care for patients in the angiosuite which include the preprocedure phase, procedure phase, and postprocedure phase. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient in the department. This position is overseen by Nursing and reports to the Angiosuite Clinical Coordinator.

Required Qualifications: Current CA RN licenseBLS and ACLS requiredCompletion of an advanced dysrhythmia courseCompletion of advanced hemodynamic monitoring classCompletion of an intra-aortic balloon pump classTwo years of recent Critical Care experience and/or Cath Lab experienceCompletion of Moderate Sedation education and competencyCompletion of yearly supplemental competency validationCompletion of 10 CEUs yearly related to Angiographic Catheterization Nursing. Certification in Midline/PICC line placement preferredDemonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in this department. Knowledge of growth and development over the life spanKnowledge of dysrhythmias and appropriate interventionsAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health SystemAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workloadMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesPreferred Qualifications: Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
