Job Description As a Reliability Engineer Intern at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to the flawless operation of machines and the maintenance of quality standards. Working closely with different company functions, you will play a crucial role in supporting the production of sterile drugs for third parties at our Monza site in Italy. This internship provides a valuable learning experience in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Continuous Improvement.
Main Activities/Training Path During this internship, you will:
Gain knowledge of TPM and Lean Management principles through training and practical experience. Learn to plan activities, lead resources, and transfer knowledge between maintenance and production teams. Support the team in supervising project progress, ensuring alignment with priorities and company quality standards. Actively monitor TPM projects to meet goals and maintain quality standards. Customer Management You will participate in internal and client meetings, contributing your technical expertise and proposing innovative solutions. Your insights and knowledge will drive effective decision-making and facilitate productive discussions.
Quality Developing expertise in Data Integrity and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, you will ensure the proper execution of relevant controls. You will update procedures in compliance with GMP standards, assist in conducting departmental investigations, and actively contribute to the resolution of quality-related issues.
Rft/otd You will gain knowledge of company targets for On Time Delivery (OTD) and Right First Time (RFT) for project activities. Collaborating with the team, you will develop proficiencies in Continuous Improvement and LEAN processes to achieve these targets.
Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this position, you must meet the following requirements and qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, with ongoing or completed Master's degree. Equivalent experience in the field of Chemical or Mechanical Engineering will also be considered. Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools. Ability and curiosity about teamwork. Desirable Study abroad experience (ERASMUS+ or similar). Understanding of the pharmaceutical/food industry. Problem-solving skills.
