No Offer Description Call: Rector's Decree n. 2263/2024 of 16. 12. 2024 Project: NEW HEPOCH - A NEW paradigm for sustainable decentralized green gas production: low grade biomass gasification coupled to an innovative rotary Stirling engine for polygeneration of HEat, POwer and bioCHar (PRIN 2022 - 202255LYCP) Deadline for sending applications: 04. 02. 2025 at 12:00 PM (noon) Number of applications: 3 Description of the research activity: Investigation of a new integrated approach for biomass gasification, focusing on polygeneration-oriented production of heat, power (through the integration with a Stirling engine), and biochar.
Conduct stand-alone testing of the biomass gasifier under different process conditions to identify the optimal working point for integration with the Stirling engine and suitable biochar production.
Integrate the biomass gasifier and CHP unit to determine the optimal location for the CHP unit on the gasification plant and design a proper mounting seat.
Test the performance of the integrated system in terms of biochar yield, thermal and electrical efficiencies, and assess the potential of the proposed technological solution.
