Job position description Transform Transport is a non-profit research Foundation focused on innovation in mobility and transport planning. We are looking for a dedicated Geodata Scientist to join our dynamic and growing team in Milan promptly. You will have an exciting and multi-faceted role working on innovative and impacting urban projects while developing your own skills. Main Duties Applied research on cities and urban environments with a focus on mobility, through a data-driven evidence-based approach; Data collection, processing, and validation of location-based datasets including open data sources (e. g. , OpenStreetMap), image-based data (e. g. , satellite and street-level images), GPS data (e. g. , LBS), and IOT data (e. g. sensors); Mobility data analysis and pattern recognition from CCTV image acquisition systems; Application of machine learning techniques on sensor and mobility datasets (e. g. , GPS, FCD, LBS data) for spatial data modelling and forecasting. Job position education B. Sc. or M. Sc. in Geoinformatics, Data Science, or equivalent. Job position experience 1-3 years of working experience in industry or academia. Required skills Data analysis skills, basic knowledge of applied statistics for research. Geo-data analysis skills, knowledge of spatial algorithms (e. g. , spatial clustering, spatial autocorrelation measures, spatial regression, etc. ). Python Programming Language. Python geo-data science kit (e. g. , pandas, NumPy, GeoPandas, MovingPandas, Shapely, etc. ). Python data visualization (e. g. , Matplotlib, seaborn, Folium, Streamlit, etc. ) QGIS or ArcGIS Proficiency in English Additional skills Image and video processing libraries (e. g. , OpenCV, Yolo, etc. ) Deep learning libraries (e. g. , TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc. ) Database management systems (e. g. , SQL, PostgreSQL, PostGIS, etc. ) Soft skills Passionate about data analytics applied to Smart Cities Ability to manage priorities, resources, and workflow Self-motivated, able to manage your own workload and able to work in a team Experience in or interest in research Primary Location Milan, Italy.
